Oh! Britney. It has been quite a ride for the popstar and it seems to be only continuing for her. She attempts to prolong her music career by putting out a another album to prove she is still a force to listened to. I find she does extremely well with this outing. Circus is mainly pure fun. There is really nothing too heavy here. It sort of reminds a person of the "slave for you" and "oops! i did it again" phase of life for her. well without furher ado let's review this cd. First cut on the disc is the super infectious "Womanizer" with the pounding beat and the catchy hook it's hard to resist. this song was written to do one thing. this is to pull you into the Britney trance. which is extremely easy to have done. The next song "Circus" which is also another single from the album keeps the fun coming while informing the world that Britney runs the show and no one should forget it. she futher confirms this on the video to this song with confidence. The beat is kept pop with a tinge of urban flair. "Out from Under" follows after all the excitment of the first 2 tracks. It is a slower number which feels like a breath of fresh air and sort of a story in itself.if anyone didn't know better you could say it's a mirror image of her real life experience with a variety of people throughout life and how she deals with them or chooses not to deal with them. you will get it more upon first listen. it's a ballad for sure. Next follows "Kill the Lights" which has a very energetic vibe and it comes off as a "Piece of Me" part 2. It picks up where it left off. She tells of how she handles the paparazzi among other things. Very fun song. The album keeps the vibe going with "Shattered Glass". Where she talks about how bad a guy should feel for leaving her and how he will never get her back. It's actually one of the shortest songs on the album as well. Then this all rolls into "If You Seek Amy". This is another fun number in the vein of "Pink" instead not as rough. The song repeats "lalalala" vibe all the way through. You finish the first chorus you can't resist but repeat it over and over again. This song does sort of have a miley cyrus feel as well when intially heard. Then you quickly realaize it could never be song by her simply by the subject matter. One more clue on this song if you sing the chorus very fast you can hear an extra special surprise. Don't say I didn't warn ya. This all rolls into the "Unusual You" this is slow number where she talks about a guy who acts like a total angel and how she expects him to turn bad but he doesn't. It's one of those numbers where you just sit back and relax it has a very somber feel to it. It's one of those songs you just find yourself singing to whether you realize it or not. It also has nice little rock undertones. AFTER that slow numer the beats goes on with another mellow number which is also one of my personal favorites. "Blur" this is the only song on the album that has hard beat fronting. This has a very hard urban feel to it. It works well for Britney. She talk about having a wild night previously and not remembering anything that happened. She's scared of what she might have done that night previous. This to me is one of the most introspective song on the album. it seems to mirror herr life over the last few years very well. Once this song ends all of the deep thoughts fer the album pretty much end as well this is followed up u "Mmmmm Papi" It's a very fun number witha very light and fun 60s beat fel to it. Wher she talks about having a great dependable guy in her life. It's very silly but typical of Britney. I think it works well for her. Some of have agrued that it is not one of her best. This is really up to the listener. "Mannequin" follows after and has a pulsating beat all the way through. It's truly a dance number with timbaland like production. When you hear the song you can already imagine an elaborate dance number to go with it. as she exclaims" My face like a mannequin". Which i guess is her own way of saying you can't change her."Lace and Leather" is very prince like number with the bass helping out where it can. This has to be the shortest number on the album and also one of the best. It has a very nice rock feel to it. This can be enjoyed by anyone. Finally the album ends with "My Baby". Where britney talks about one of her children and sings in a high tone/pitch. I personally think this works well for her. She actaully sounds quite good. It's also nice to hear her voice without tons of special effects on it. All and all it is a fun ride and that's wha it is meant to be. The album isn't perfect. I think it could have had maybe a few more dance numbers but other than that it will due for now. I know one thing when it comes to the live show it should be a sight to see.

ok im a britney fan but i will not take it easy in scrutinizing the whole Circus album... here it is... its good album..3/5 or average.. but it sounds like a big follow up to BLACKOUT and even lacks the former's spank and edginess. but for one, britney's voice were less "pro-tooled" in Circus that makes it more real.. unfortunately britney once again contributed less artistic juices in Circus by co-writing a few songs.. by now with 10 years recording experiences, she should dominate her album making.. in full control of her songs.. that makes her a real artist.. further, the Circus album lacks innovativeness (except ofcourse for Unusual you) that somehow marks an artist in the industry.. and there are those songs that will annoy you such as Mmm Papi that should have not been included in the first place... if u were able to here somewhere QUICKSAND (co-written by LadY Gaga) yu would actually say that it would have been better because its more mature... but of course there are those songs that are saving grace... Womanizer and If U Seek Amy are two best songs in the album (interms of artistry, Popness, HItness) Circus is another one (Coolness,Difference) and of course Unusual You (innovativeness).. well as a britney fan, of course i love britney so much that i love all her songs.. hahaha love u BRITNEY!

well thank you for respondiong to my little review. I do enjoy circus but i think black out was more mature and gutsy. Circus is pretty much a big follow up to it. especially on songs like kill the lights, where remnants of blackout seem to appear. This also happens with shattered glass. I agree that i was a bit disappointed by the song writing credits. I mean it's has been a length of time now. so i think there is no excuse why she shouldn't be writing more of her songs. She only wrote like a handful of the numbers on circus. When i saw this a little bit turned off. Not that it takes away from the songs themselves but my feeling to identify sort of faltered a bit. So i have learned with Britney just take it as fun and nothing more or less. (I would like to see her push the envelope some more and take more control in her music.)
