Beta testers Needed

Have you ever wanted to be a beta tester for a site? Have you ever thought of where sites got there beta testers. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to try out the site before it actually opened to see how it works?
What are your thoughts. Have you ever been a beta tester? HAve you ever wanted to be? What was your experience with it?

If the occasion ever came round then I would do it if I had the time.
Looks the occasion is there now and time doesn't seem to be a problem either so.... off I went to investigate and I can't get there today

I've beta tested software and some online games only. It's pretty fun being part of the development and bug hunting. When beta testing games though it usually is solemnly to find bugs and not much get to know the game time.
Oh, also all my beta invites has been from friends that are developers. So I haven't done any "outside job" so to speak :P
