Yesterday, I was using a baby shampoo to wash my baby's hair, it was diluted for mildness and even then, when a bit got into his eyes and he put up quite a fuss and rubbed his eyes a lot which made me wonder, is it really tear free and does it really not burn??

It could be that he is really sensitive to it. You never really know. It's not like they sit up and say "Hey that burns" I just gave my son a bath this morning. He didn't like it anyway. All we can do is just try and be careful.

They use chemicals to make it. So I don't think there is a way that it would be tear free in my opinion. All you can do is be a little more careful, but I don't think it will hurt him.

I've been lucky so far about not getting any soap in my daughter's face, but if I were to, I'm hoping that it is tear free like it says. I would think that it has to burn a little bit though. But even as a grown adult, I don't even like the feeling of water in my eyes, so that might be what your baby was reacting to.
