depending what TV Tuner Card you have, i believe that your tv tuner card cant use your laptop monitor as it will only outputs signal. your laptops vga also only outputs signal. you can use your laptop as tv if you buy a USB type tv tuner, connect it to usb, install driver and your ready to go.

sorry for the very late response, yes it's available in the market, it should have the the coax port, so you can connect the coaxial cable coming from your cable box/ antenna.

the onus is on your cpu whether it has a graphic card with tv-out (scart) input. maintain your connection betweeen your cpu and your monitor. then connect your dvd or tv signal to your cpu via that input.

yes, we have been using our computer as a tv set, too. it has been for some years that we used to do this. however, we had never attempted this with the laptop at all. if there is somebody around who is knowledgeable about these things regarding computer technicalities, like a computer technician, it is best that you consult him. the store or company where you bought that tuner card should be knowledgeable enough on this regard. i am sure that they have employed with them a qualified computer technician to advise customers on queries such as yours.

I enquired with some of such technicians. Most of them are saying that it is not possible and some are saying it is possible. But if ask the procedure, the are not having any idea about that. The only possible way is asking the computer manufacturer.Mine is hp laptop and it is easily possible to contact them for online support. I will do it soon. Thanks for your response and sorry for my delayed reply

yes you can use a computer as a TV as you have said i have a TV tunner card for my computer and i can record some programs and use my computer as a TV. Laptops have a in-built TV tunner card so with that device you can use your laptop as a TV and you can also record the live video in that.

Are all the laptops are equipped with such inbuilt TV tuner card? Mine is hp pavilion dv1000 notebook pc and I am not having much knowledge about its configuration. If this is capable for such conversion I will be very happy. But the sad thing is we have to keep it in front of us directly, to view anything .Thanks for your response and sorry for the delayed reply.

On my video card I have two outputs and I actually attach both my monitor and TV to it. Because whenever I'm surfing the web I watch TV or Online TV as well or any movie of streamed videos I would display it on my Television instead of my computer monitor. So I can still do my work and designs on my desktop monitor instead of having videos interfering with my desktop monitor and work. God bless

It seems that you are making use of the TC monitor to view the online channels.I tried to use the laptop as the TV monitor to view the movies from the TV tuner card signal. But still I am not able to find the proper procedure for that. Thanks for your response.
