I heard that woman referred to as "Octomom" for the first time yesterday while watching tv. What is it with the media and nicknaming people? Even though I think she was crazy to have 8 fetuses inserted when she already had 6 kids that she apparently can't provide for it's still a little rude to dub her "Octomom."

I saw that name being used here on mylot yesterday. I don't know why people dub others with such rude names, but I do think that it is wrong of them to give her such a name. I know the first thing that comes to mind is dinosaurs , and then the ocean... lol... I know that sounds odd, but thats the first thing that comes to mind when I hear it.

I hadn't heard her dubbed as that until reading your post. I think the whole situation is a bit bizzare. The media sure can take things out of context a lot of the time. Plus that wouldn't be a correct terminology for her anyway since she does have six other children.

Have you heard the latest? The hospital is considering whether or not to release the babies to her because she hasn't proved she can take care of them. Bizarre is just the tip of that iceberg.
