Like the tooth brush and hair brush..all brushes you use to clean your body, your toes, and your food! All these brushes must be dealt with carefully and to be cleaned properly and thrown out after a time. The toilet brush is that you just washed your toilet with..must also be cleaned..not just put back in it's container. You have to also rinse out with hot water and spray either peroide or javex..also clean the container too. Haven't you ever noticed if you just shake it and put it back in the container that it's got yellow gunk? Where you think that comes from? Yep, from cleaning the toilet! Your brush you use to clean mushrooms should be only for mushrooms and potato brush too. Once you finished with them you wash them with soap, rinse and them put them on a paper sheet for them to dry and then put away once dry and not leave them on the sink as many people do. Once they are dry wrap them in a paper towel and put them away. After all here you are washing your veggies so they be clean..but is the brush clean? So any brush you use for personal hygiene or food, or cleaning the toilet and the receptacle must be cleaned thorougly or else you are putting yourself and others at risk Simple little things we take for granted but can cause sickness and even death cause you don't know what bacteria may be on those brushes.

hello dancingredfeather i do not believe that i have ever cleaned my toilet brush like that before. ewww. how would you possible go about cleaning a toilet brush? lol thanks for sharing that one. but i haven't really thought about cleaning the toilet brush before. and i do not have any veggie brushes in my kitchen, but i do have pastry brushes that i use for my cakes that i bake thou. and i will make sure to clean them properly and then wrap them up with a paper towel or something like that or stick them down in a baggie. well when that you respond back to my question, i guess that i will be in the bathroom?, cleaning my toilet brush? lol well for that matter, what about the toilet plunger? i guess that a toilet plunger should also be washed and cleaned before that it is put back up as well? lol right? take care and have a beautiful evening.

Yes my dear, we don't think about it..do we? lolllll..even the plunger has to be cleaned and disinfected..you just plunged in the toilet that is full of whatever and then you don't clean the plunger..imagine all those bacteria doing a happy dance. I even wash my broom after I have swept the floor. I wash my mop after I have finished doing my floors. The rag you use in the kitchen to clean up ..I wash it all the time once I finished cleaning up..not just rinse. There are so many little things that we don't think about which can be the root of why we are sick without knowing. So cleaning brushes, brooms, plungers, toilet brush, hair brush, tooth brush, nail brush and for goodness sakes do plunge your finger nail files and clippers in peroixde! I don't use a toilet brush anymore, I got the disposible paper squares but then I also clean the handle before I put it back on the hook. I wash my hand alot too. and cream them to keep them softs and wrinkle free. If people would be concious of these things we take for granted, alot of sicknesses would be prevented.

Thank you DancingRedFeather1. This is a very timely reminder. It is easy to forget about the brushes. We wash our hands, keep our towels clean, sanitize the countertops and put the brushes away damp in a dark spot. Guess what! They can get moldy and collect germs! Thanks again.

Very happy to be of service. It's true we don't think about these things..don't know why but we don't. I went to a friend's house and I refused politely to eat there after I saw how she used the brush to clean her veggies and the bristles where not nice and white..so no way was I going to take a chance to eat there even if the veggies were cooked..just having the image in my mind was enough.. Very important to bleach them , rinse very well then put on paper to dry out..and them put away.
