As a person who has struggled with depression for 5mths now total, that question has echoed my head... "What causes my depression?"
You know I can understand that people get depressed due to life situations that are to much to bare, or even circumstances that have caused us to be left in a state of brokenness. However, that is just not my case. I have a great life. I am living with wonderful people who love me dearly as I do them, I have a great relationship with God, and my family, So, why?
Why do I have days where getting up is like someone asking me to swallow a knife, or talking to people is like asking me to cut myself. Its this pain and anger or sadness I feel and honestly don't have a reason to. So why?
The answer: Me. I am the one who chooses how I want to feel, I am the one who makes the decision to be the best or the worst of myself. Me. I do.
I believe that for everyone else as well. I think we don't need medication but we need to really delve. What do we really want? To be happy, to be sad? We choose.
I have successfully overcome my depression, so for you that struggle with it.. Here is some advice:
Make a choice.

I think a lot of depression comes from a chemical imbalance in the brain which can sometimes be corrected with more endorphins. You can naturally access those endorphins by exercising every day - going for a walk or working out.
