There are so many religions and so many beliefs all exisisting in the same world. And there are beliefs that are contradicting to each other. What should you believe in and what should you not? Who is right and who is wrong?

Yes I am a baptist. I am a very big believer and i attend church. I love my religion and I believe in it but I also have enough since to know that just because its my belief that it doesnt mean that other religions cant also be right. Rather we are Baptist, Catholic, Jewish, or any other religion we have no right to tell them they are wrong. Judge not unless you be judged by the same judge. I you believe you are the only religion that right then good. You have you opinion and i have mine.

Yes I have thank you very much for asking. And since you seem to want to judge me so bad here is some of my credentials.I attend church every Sunday, and Wednesday night. I teach Sunday School, and Wednsday night Bible study classes for the Preschool through 3 grade. I take my Walk with God every seriously. I am also taking college class on bible studies. And I also teach Bible school ever year. I also am a volentier fireman and I also run a clothes drive that provides clothes and other thing for people that need after they lose everything to fire in this area. I am not asking for a pat on the back I just want you to know that when I do something it is not for selfish reasons. I do it because I feel that is what God has asked of me. I do not earn money for it I do it from the heart.

I agree with you lvhuhes. I am Southern Baptist, but I have always kept an open mind. So I guess you could say that I go to a Southern Baptist church but I don't agree with everything they teach. The reason is, my great-grandmother had a huge hand in raising me. She was Lakota, and followed the Old Ways. And one thing that I learned while growing up is exactly what you just said....they have their similarities. They both have a savior (White Buffalo Calf Woman / Jesus), they both have one diety (the Great Spirit / God), etc. I don't think that there could possibly be sooo many different religions in the world, and there only be ONE right one.

There is no right or wrong religion. Religious beliefs are a personal thing that must work for the believer in their daily life. If what you believe works for you than stay with it. Just don't tell me that I am wrong because I do not share your beliefs. We all walk our own path to enlightenment, No one is right and no one is wrong.

siamus Your view of the world is severely limited and constricted. Mine is not "the common everyman view of the whole religion thing,"I am not a Christian, I am a Buddhist and my view of the whole "religious thing"reflects my religious viewpoint. The Buddhist view is that there is no such thing as the right religion, only the path that can lead to a state of enlightenment and a release from the suffering that is the lot in life fore most of humanity. Buddhism does not ask you to come and believe. It asks only that you look and question. If you find something in Buddhism that works for you than take it and use it in your life.

At the outset all religions promote the idea of good and austere living. It is true that one should do good deeds,be kind and sincere to the needy and be of help and assistance to ones fellowmen.

There is no right and no wrong as long as you do not harm anyone else (including yourself) or invade another's space with your beliefs. The best thing to do is read as much as you can. Then go to Houses of worship with friends. If that does not work, then go someplace that you find beautiful and quiet and just be still. Sometimes that is the best way to get close to the Master of the Universe. Shalom~Adoniah

What should you believe in and what should you not? Who is right and who is wrong? People should ONLY believe in what works for them, what they feel down to their core and that could very well be not believing in anything at all which is fine too...Who is right? Everyone..FOR THEMSELVES..I am right in what I believe as it applies to MY LIFE (which is all that matters)....Who is wrong? NOBODY..

We cannot say objectively which is correct or if any is correct. We can, however, eliminate those propounding central doctrines that are inconsistent. All those religions that suggest personal reincarnation are false since the idea of reincarnation is internally inconsistent. What makes me me, is in part my life experiences, without such, I am in a real sense someone else. Therefore, reincarnation is incoherent. all the best urban

urban since Origen of Alexandria seemed to suggest the idea of personal reincarnation in his writing I must assume that you include Christianity in the religions that you deem false because it fails to pass your arbitrary litmus test. Here is a sample of what I am speaking of: "Origen was unable to conceive of a God who would create souls that were capable of dissolving into the oblivion of evil (non-being) for all eternity. Therefore, he reasoned that a single lifetime is not enough for a soul to achieve salvation, for certain souls require more education or 'healing' than others. So he developed his doctrine of multiple ages, in which souls would be re-born, to experience the educative powers of God once again, with a view to ultimate salvation. This doctrine, of course, implies some form of transmigration of souls or metempsychosis." http://www.iep.utm.edu/o/origen.htm#H2

I can't believe you said that Urban. When you are reincarnated, you bring your essence with you each time, otherwise how can you ever reach nirvana? It is you that gets there finally, not some stranger. Shalom~Adoniah

Hi nikky, God is right. His Word, the Holy Bible, is right. Every word in it is Truth...God's Truth. He loves us more than we can ever begin to imagine! He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die in our place to save us from our sins. No one else ever did that and no one else ever could because we are all sinners and Jesus Christ lived a totally sinless and perfect life. So, He was the perfect Sacrifice for our sins. I pray that you will ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your life and make Him Lord and Savior of your life. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and need His forgiveness and He will forgive you! Then start reading and meditating on His Word, the Holy Bible, and pray everyday. God will change your life! God bless you!

There is truth in all religions, well most of them anyway, some are predicated on fallacious egotistical misinterpretations. But I can find truth in most, i will say it that way.

If we are looking for the truth then I can't say it better than this: Matthew 7:7-11 (New International Version) 7"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9"Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! God will help us find the truth and then: John 8:31-32 (New International Version) 31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
