Sing solo or with a group?

To all singers or wanna-bees What would you prefer, sing solo or sing with a group? I have been blessed with a good enough singing voice but I'd rather sing with a group than sing solo. I love the fun of learning a different tune and hearing it in harmony with other voices. I sing alto. I also love duets.

I love to sing in a group more than sing solo but both have their disadvantages.... when you sing solo, it's scary but easier when it comes to practicing your song. When in group, sometimes it's hard to gather for practice but it's more fun and challenging and you will have more confidence because you're singing with someone.

I want to sing solo but I'm too shy to sing alone. __

Hi fellow-singer NaomiErin. Maybe they were short of sopranos and since your range is wide enough they let you sing soprano2. In my case, I started to sing soprano but later on chose to sing alto. First, I felt it was more my range. Second, no one else wanted to sing alto. LOL!

I have a fairly good voice but I don't use it much. When I'm singing in the car or something I usually just mess around and sometimes I just make a mess of it on purpose to have fun. I would like to sing in a group because it is more fun and the harmonies are usually fantastic. I too am an alto and I sang in a group that had one person of each and we did a beautiful version of "Seasons of Love" from Rent. I wish someone had got it on video.
