Saad Hussein, an Ethiopian refugee, sent a letter addressed to Obama to the offices of the Illinois government in Springfield before the inauguration. The letter was stained with HIV tainted blood. The man says he was hoping to get tickets to the inaguration. The man is on medication to treat a mental illness. http://www.clevelandleader.com/node/9163 I can't believe anyone would do this.

Hi Bd200789! Goodness, no wonder he did it. He is suffering from mental illness. I guess that is why the security of the president and all presidents of each country is very strict and everything will be screened first before it reaches the president. Take care and have a great day! lovelots..faith

I think this man was just a plain old nut. Does he actually have HIV or is that delusion part of his mental illness. The article wasn't clear. Just when you think you have heard of everything....

I don't have anything to say except why is this making news?

It would be news no matter who it had been sent to.

This man should be thrown under the cell and the key thrown away. I think however, we get caught up in jingoism, xenophobia, and outright racism when we lump refugees all into a bag and pre-judge them. I would hate to be typecasted in such a way. However, I do believe in tougher immigration laws. I'm just not sure that the argument you are using is the one that should be used to bring that about. It's like saying, "Let's ship all Arabs out of here," right after September 11.

That's one reason why the United States shouldn't be so quick to accept refugees.

Hi Bd, I can not imagine doing this to anyone. I am just thankful that it was caught in time before it could have done any serious harm. It says that he sent Obama and his staff envelopes, I wonder just how many envelopes there were. Hopefully something will be done so this man can not do any more harm on any one. He should not be allowed to send mail with out it being looked over first.
