How long do you wait - before posting a best response?

I try to give everything five days to a week. That is if I remember to go back and follow-up. At first I wouldn't mark anything with less then three responses, but that could very easily leave me with a bunch of unresolved discussions. I am also making a conscience effort to rate everything on behalf of the repliers, I didn't realize how not rating each other can effect the popular issue, which guess could effect other entitlements.

I like to give it a week as well, even if I already found a response that I think is worthy of BR. That way it still gives me a chance to find one I may like even better. I don't like to wait too long though as I don't like to hold on to unresolved discussions.

I agree. I've seen where the best response has been given within minutes of the first response. lol, that's one way to get it over with I guess. And of all things, giving the best response mark is my least favorite thing to do.

I don't wait a predetermined time. I wait until I have some selection to choose from unless one just stands out to me. I make sure to always rate everyone as they reply though. I have only had one person that had an answer that got an automatic best response. I think all of my other ones ended up being a week or two before I went back over them and made a choice. Happy Mylotting and have a great day!

I think that's a good time frame, a week or two. I'm really applying myself to the rating. I have no reason to rate anyone with an -, the only way I would do that is if the person's response made no sense to the topic. there have been a few like that. I've seen discussions like that too. I've seen where the individual rambles on and on and by the time you finish reading it, you have no idea what they said.

It really just effects the rating, and well their are people who try to get others ratings down... so. Well I haven't done that in quite a while so I really should start to do that again, lol. I don't think I really had a set plan to begin with to be honest though! I hope that you can get back into a groove of giving out best responses! Have a wonderful day!

I'm going to try. It's a shame people use the little + and - to be mean isn't it. I have to admit I have seen some that really should have been marked with the -, not because I didn't agree with them, and there have been plenty of those. Because the response made absolutely no sense. Like just ramblings.
