We are going on vacation, will out dogs be fine home alone?

We have two dogs at home right now. We are going on vacation in May for a week and we are leaving our dogs home. My mother is going to stop in the moring and in the evening. She wants to make sure they have food, water, clean litter box etc. Do you think they will be okey? I am a little worried about them. What can I do to help them deal with us not being there?

If she is going to check on them twice a day they should be fine.
If you are really worried ask your mom if they can stay at her house, or if she can stay at your house. You could kennel them but that can get expensive.

Sounds a good idea. However, My mom will not like to stay in our house since she has her own business to run. I will leave enough food, water and other things with the dogs. Hope they can do well. Maybe I will ask one of my friends to see them regularly besides my mother. This can make me feel more comfortable.It is really nice to know your idea.

hmm How old are they? Will you consider put them in your mother's house for that week to make saure they are safe and happy? I would be worried too if I needed to leave them home alone for a week...

as long as someone is going to come in and feed them and check on them, they should be fine. i would leave the tv on for them so they have to sound of someone being there even though there is not someone there. when your mom comes over to check on them, ask her to stay and play with them for a little while. but they should be fine. good luck for your trip

If your dogs are pretty well mannered (don't chew on things or fight with one another) and your mom is going to check on them, I think that everything will be fine. We've had to leave our dogs at home before and had someone check on them. As long as they have food, water, and are able to go outside to do their business, they will do okay. It's normal to worry about your pets while you're away...they'll be super happy to see you when you get back though.
