Has your child or grandchild told you what they want to be when they grow up?

Hahaha! Yep. When I was working at Space Telescope Science Institute, part of NASA, where astronomers came from around the world to use the computers that operate the Hubble Space Telescope, I had taken my boys to a special party they were having where 3 of the astronauts of the latest space shuttle mission were the guests of honor. My kids met the astronauts and it really made an impression on my oldest son. My youngest son was more interested in the food and the other kids at the party... sigh!
My oldest son was about 6 years old and he told me he wanted to be a Professional Engineer like his 'Pop-Pop' AND an astronaut AND a doctor... all at the same time. I asked him how he was going to do all that at the same time and he told me he was going to "work real hard".
Today, he's a VERY hard worker, but he never realized his dream of being an Engineer, doctor and astronaut.

I think that's one of the very best compliments we can get from our children... when they feel close enough to us to be able to tell us anything and everything.
I must admit, though, that my youngest son (who just turned 25) tells me things I'd rather not know about! LOL
Thank you for the BR! Normally, they don't matter to me and I'd rather see them going to one of the newer members here to boost their morals, but today it's a real boost for me because I'm really feeling crappy! (I seem to have picked up a cold somewhere.) So, thanks again.
Hope your day is a good one!

When my oldest daughter was only 11 she told someone she wanted to be just like her mommy, a Jedi and a teacher! LOL. It was so cute and we both still joke about it today. Anora

Hi eaforeman! Oh, that is so lovely and brilliant to hear from your grandchild.
I really don't have any children of my own but my beloved nieces and nephews always tell me what they want to be when they grow up. My 13 year old niece wants to be a doctor, my 8 year old niece wants to be a singer but before that she wants to be a doctor, a dancer, an actress. haha..My 7 year old nephew wants to be a race car driver and a guitarist and wants to have a band of his own. My other niece who is 10 years old wants to be a movie and tv celebrity, a dancer, a singer and a commercial model but before Hollywood struck her, she wants to be a police! haha..
Take care and have a wonderful day!

Hi there friend! Oh that is very sweet to have my dear friend--to have a very beautiful and close relationship with your grandchild. It really can make one's heart smile and be filled with love! Oh by the way my dear friend, I can't hardly believe that you are already a grandmother. You look so young on you photo!

What a cute topic. Let's see... first she wanted to be a writer like mum, then she thought a nurse like her aunt would be better, when she went for a hair cut she decide hairdressing looked interesting and when we took our cat to the vet she made up her mind that veterinary science would be her vocation.
I asked her just now and without batting an eyelid she relied, "A scientist"
Of course!

My grandson keeps saying he wants to join the army and be a soldier. My daughter said one day when they were in town he saw a recruiting place and he was wanting to go sign up now, she told him he was not near old enough and he said well they can go do it now and when he is old enough then he will be ready. LOL

My little neice wants to be a fire fighter when she grows up because she "likes the big red trucks and wants to wear the special hat".
Heh, I've no idea if that's what she'll become, but we'll see.
