Sit down. Sit still and upright. Close your eyes lightly. Sit relaxed but alert. Silently, interiorly, begin to say a single word. I recommend the Aramaic prayer-phrase "Maranatha." Recite it as four syllables of equal length. Listen to it as you say it, gently, but continuously. Do not think or imagine anything -- spiritual or otherwise. Thoughts and images will likely come, but let them pass. Just keep returning your attention -- with humility and simplicity -- to saying your word in faith, from the beginning to the end of your meditation.

Its good to know that you meditate. But it is not a simple thing. It takes time to get ur mind settled. Its practice and practice that will bring u to a state where ur mind will go blank. But it will be really a long time and sincere effort on your part. You also need to change your lifestyle - food, exercise, habits etc. You may try yoga, it is a good form of simple exercies that will compliment meditation. But take care that ur yoga teacher is knowledgeable and knows his job..

Maybe take your time working up to it and picture a river gently flowing, and throw any thoughts you have in the river.

I have in the past, and what I was taught was to picture myself somewhere peaceful, i.e. beach, and it actually worked. This is from someone who cannot easly shut off the mind.

When I meditate, I tense up all of my muscles starting from my feet to my head hold that for 10 seconds and then release, by then my mind is pretty clear, I hope this helps you out, i think everyone should meditate

I meditate as well as practice self-hypnosis...I found going through relaxtion exersizes (mentally concentrate on relaxing various parts of the body one by one) to be one of the best things for helping to clear my mind.

I have never done it. Perhaps you can dim the lights, turn on some soft nature music, and just relax.

Yes I meditate, and find a purple candle and some wordless meditation music a great help when clearing my mind. I look into the candle flame for a while, then close my eyes and take a deep breath for the count of seven, hold it for the count of five, then breathe out for the count of seven, and repeat that five to seven times, until I know I'm ready. I hope this helps... good luck.

Ausnikki, do you have a meditation cd to listen to. I have one with the sounds of the ocean. I find if I listen to this and focus on the sound my mind soon clears. If you hold a clear quartz and a amethyst while doing this you will be relaxed enough to focus better. Hope this helps. Lyn

Meditation - AGIRL MEDITATTING
first learn to keep your concience clean by not doing wrong things. second do not keep work pending so that brain keeps reminding of the pending work. Thirdly do not try to find solutions to complicated emotional problems of others. Keep the mind blank and totally relax. do sit in the most comfortable seat you like and in most comfortable posture. and close your eyes. Some times you may slep off its ok. relaxation of mind is more imporatant for meditation

meditation - have the meditation in cool and soundless place undeer the shade of a tree
i like to meditate in morning and it can be doneunder trees,so that u can hev the cool bloom of the trees na du can have the freshness of the morning. u can perform the meditation in many ways nut the best way is to sit down and close ur eyes and plz concentrate ur sight at the centr of ur eyes . now try to locate any thing in that darkness. if u can locate th thing in the darkness u can start thinking of it and be cool ayt the time of thinking. thsi will improve ur confidence levels and u can improve ur conc level to a greater level.
