a question regarding slumdog millionaire

hi friends.sure slumdog millionaire got bafta awards and also 8 oscars.i am not finding faults there though i havent watched the movie yet.the question i want to ask is only rahman for music and reshul for sound mixing got oscar awards.no problem there too.but i am indian and i am proud that 2 indians got oscars though i am never an oscar favourite.NOW THE QUESTION.THE FILM WAS BASED ON INDIA AND THE ACTORS R ALSO INDIANS BUT R THE INDIANS RIGHT IN FEELING PROUD THAT SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE GOT ALL THOSE AWARDS ,ASSUMING THAT RESHUL AND RAHMAN DIDNOT GET ANY OSCARS?well?the movie was directed by an english director and if it hadnt been an english movie,slumdog wouldnt even never been nominated for oscars except for foreign movie.its like making a movie about ants and getting awards and ants feeling proud about it.i may be harsh but its the truth
