For example, when you have a cold or flu?
I like some hot soups, like vegetable or chicken soup.
And some tea, like green tea or herbal tea. I like something warm.
And I think taste changes a bit when you have a cold, so I think I prefer simple foods and not so spicy or salty. How about you?

When I am sick I like to eat plain white rice , jello and a little fruit .
Chicken soup is also good. Another thing is hot tea with a couple of plain cookies . Maybe nibble on a little cheese during the day also .

right. anything warm or hot is great when you're sick. but other than the usual remedies i like eating "happy" foods. i call them happy foods because these foods cheer me up. Such as chocolate cake, potato chips, junk foods mostly. When I have a cold foods doesn't taste so good. But I just eat them anyway . I hate it when I'm hungry. I get migraines and I just become sicker. Oh I forgot to mention eating oranges is great too.

Ooh I love chocolate cake ;)
Pity, because that would involve me going outside or baking, which I might be too tired to do when I'm sick like this. Yeah alot of foods taste weird when you have a cold, I think its something to do with the smell of food being blocked, but it seems to change the taste quite a lot.
Yeah! Oranges are full of Vit C :) thanks for reminding me.

Soup is great isn't it when you are not feeling well, a nice chicken soup with vegetables is my favourite, funny enough the only time I will have soup is when I am not well, most of the time I won't have soup, so I see soup as something I only have when I am ill. I also love ice cream, sounds weird doesn't it but when you have a sore throat ice cream is wonderfully soothing and it's a treat, because when you are not well it's horrible, so ice cream is a great way to cheer you up. I like hot blackcurrant as well to drink.

Wow ok, I should try. I know in some parts of Asia, like China and Hong Kong, there is some rice porridge which is eaten both regularly and especially when sick. I think its quite traditional to eat something plain like rice porridge when sick because its not too spicy.
I'll try buttermilk :)

If it's the flu, I won't feel like eating until it's ending. I have to force myself to eat anything when I have the flue. If it's a cold, I'll crave almost anything that's healthy or has good nutritional value. Chicken soup, red meat, fruits, some vegetables, etc. As long as I feel it will be good for me, I'll crave it. The healthier, the better. I need something filling, too. I tend to get hungry more often when I have a cold. Anything too sweet is definitely nauseating to me the first few days of a cold, and dairy doesn't sound too good. Anything greasy or spicy isn't usually good, either.
I drink lots of tea and juice, too :)

Yeah, actually I think I lose a big part of my apetite while sick, I think its because I'm mostly tired while recovering, while i need nutrition to help my immune system so I have to eat healthy. But that's why soups and liquids, like hot tea etc is good, its easy to eat/drink :D and nutritious!
