I honestly cannot believe how obsessed our society is with loosing weight. I am all for living healthy and loosing a few pounds, don't get me wrong. What I am not okay with, is what this kind of thinking does to impressionable people. We don't need to be super thin, super models to be beautiful. God created us differently for a reason, so that we could be ourselves. Do you think that society places too much emphasis on having to be thin, to be beautiful? Do you think that this places a lot of pressure on women in particular, to be thin and perfect? What do you think that we can do about it, if anything?

I know this topic VERY well. I've always had a bad body image and this summer I got down to an unhealthy weight. Now I am eating healthy, but regularly, and still trying to get over the fact that I am not going to be super thin.
Now this is a really hard habit to break. Even though I am still thin, it just does not seem enough for me. But i'm working on it.
Teens in general are pressured so much by the medias "image of perfection". I really hate it.
I'm working hard to break this cycle.
