New Hampshire Threatens To Leave Union
February 10, 2009
New Hampshire bill threatens to leave the union and forms a legal basis for several states to the leave union on the same terms.
The bill gives general reasons, including monetary issues, why they're affirming these rights and have delineated terms of which New Hampshire will leave the union.
The language of this New Hampshire bill is the most direct threat of a state to leave the union I've read.

ANGRY OVER DC SPENDING, TULSA THROWS A TEA PARTY
Tulsa - Decisions to bail out troubled banks doesn't sit well with a lot of people in Tulsa.
The recent stimulus package isn't going over well, either.
Today, more than a thousand people20voiced their displeasure at Veterans Park during a rally dubbed the "Tulsa Tea Party".
It was one of about a dozen of such events around the country Friday.
Those in attendance made signs, passed out pork rinds and listened to speakers critical of the spending taking place in Washington.
"It just goes to show how many people are really fed up with this whole direction this country is headed," says Jay Blevins. "You know with the stimulus package with all the pork and that, with the bailouts. Why should we have to pay for, why public money for private failure?"
Larger rallies were also held today in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Houston.

I left the country about 6 months ago (I`m in Canada now). I didn`t have enough to ship my PC up here, so I just pulled the hard drive and brought it up in my carry-on. I`m hoping my tax refund will cover a new one.

The people who love the direction this country is going in are those who have their hand out for a freebie. I don't even own a house. Why should I pay for someone else's mortage. Why should I bail out a troubled bank? They got themselves their, and they will continue to do it as long as the gov't helps them.

It angers me too, especially now that it`s tax time. The IRS has disqualified me for two years in a row from any stimulus payment because my wife is not an American citizen. My grandchildren are going to end up still paying off this nonsense.

I am all for this. It took South Carolina to start the Civil War. If you look at voting map of the US broken down by Counties you will see that President Obama won in the major metropolitan areas. In Places like California he won the big cities but not the rest of the state. In New York they had a redistricting plan drawn up by the courts and one by the Lawmakers. The one that seemed to have a great deal of public support was one that was drawn up by a computer program designed by a professor. It took into account income, location, county and city lines, neighborhoods, socio economic factors. It seems that the big loser was New York City and other cities. One city which was part of 6 different legislative districts was now composed of 2 full districts and was part of another one. Rural areas were not merged into a Urban area, rather they had a representative of their own. The representation would be closer to what the voting was. It was 60+% Democratic and less than 40% Republican. Under the proposed plan that the voters did not get to vote on it was closer with some districts too close to call.

unfortunately with our wimparse governor lynch and a legislature with zero spine, I fear this resolution may not pass. All 4 of my regional represenatives live with in a few blocks of me and I have known 3 out of 4 of them presonaly for nearly 20 years. SO I have been hounding them every chance I get, including one I see regularly at the grocery store, poor guy never gets a rest from me.
It isn't so much a threat to leave the union but a warning to the federal government to comply with the 10th amendment or face a call to disolve it and reform the union. It is by far the strongest language in a 10th amendment reafirmation resolution seen yet. There are a record number of states with some form of this in the pipline right now, all that is needed suposedly is that magic 2/3 percentage of the states. The next step for a state is to initiate class action lawsuits on each and every unconstitutional action by the federal government.
Sesession is a very very dangerous road to take though. The state that does so, is no longer bound by the U.S. constitutiona dn is subject to the whim and will of that states government. Better to simply dislove the federal government and refomr it under the constitution.
