After finishing college finally and got a job. Does the job you have the exact same thing you had in mind that you see yourself doing for the next coming years? are you happy? or did it turn out the other way?

I am working in my field but in not exactly happy with my job. Im a paralegal. I thought i would be working in a small to mid size law firm, work my way up from a legal assistant to a paralegal. Right now Im at a very very small lawfirm. I work for a husband and wife who are both attorneys and Im there only employee. My paralegal duties are very spratic. I call my-self the Jill of all trades cause I do everything in the office. I answer the phones, check the mail in, restock the copy room, maintain the office calender...etc. I'm very greatfull for my job I will be here two years in april. I just wish I had co-workers. My day is very lonely and its very hard running an office by yourself with no back-up. I plan to stay here for 2 to 3 more years just so I can get more exiperence, cause when I was first looking for a job every job I was interested in wanted 3-5 years exiperence.

They are very nice, but me staying for two more years is more out of necessity than anything else. If I was just working for the wife it would be different. My other boss her husband, is insane. He is also a Dentist and in the Navy so his schedule is crazy. I try to keep him organized(he has three calenders, I email him reminders the day before he has court or client coming buy) but he is so controlling. For example I'll make an appointment for 6:00 he'll call back and tell me make if for 6:15 just so he can have the last word. He forgets alot of stuff cause he is constantly changing things I do and then he forgets what he told me to do and course none of it is his fault. Its always me or his dental assistants fault. He never calls clients back, which in turn makes my job hell cause they will call for weeks and weeks and blow up at me cause they haven't heard from him. His wife does alot of stuff for him as well and I feel bad for her cause sometimes she can't get all of her work done cause she is doing his stuff. The girl that was here before me only lasted two years with how the husband behaves, but Im going to try and stick it out.

you have a great resolve! lasting a year for a job is already a lot to bear especially if you are not to happy about it. previously i felt neutral for my job you know i don't like but i don't hate it. but with new people hired and their egos i think they are pushing me to hate it. sad but sometimes when a company grows bad people ruin its genuity anyway in your case it's different since you are handling everything. i admire your dedication for experience though :)

wow you are the only employee??? that's kind of sad since you have no co-workers or anyone to talk to, but i guess you still like your job enough that you are willing to stay for more than 2 years. I guess it's not that bad of a job right? The husband and wife boss you have must be nice since even if it so lonely out there you can say that you can stay there for 2 years!

I do enjoy my job right now. I am finally starting to earn money from the comfort of my home. This is not an easy task to complete. Since, I have been trying to get to the point that I am at for about 2 years now. It might be time to raise the bar.
