I just posted a discussion and I messed up the code! What should've been a nice, tidy discussion with easy overview due to the use of codes to make a couple of sentences either italic or bold ends up in a spiderweb of fat, tipped over letters that make the discussion even harder to read... Have you ever messed up your layout of a discussion, a paper or something else? Did it bother you/your readers, and did you manage to fix it?

Was that the video game discussion? If so, I found it refreshing. Yes, I messed up yesterday and posted something in the wrong area of the discussion. I usually get things right, but we are all human and make mistakes from time to time. I feel embarrassed but I guess that is part of the learning process.

Yes, I believe it was that discussion I messed up, lol! I agree that making mistakes is something natural and human, which we can never ban out completely. It would be nice though if there was a way we could correct your errors here on mylot after submitting them. Thank you for the compliment on my video game discussion .

Maybe if we were allowed to change our mistakes on My Lot, the whole discussion would change and that would really be confusing. In your case I think it would work, but with others it could change the whole content of the discussion. The people who run My Lot may find themselves banging on the walls trying to straighten the whole thing out. Thank you for the vote of confidence on the other discussion.

You are very welcome . I think you are right, it might also get very hard sorting out peoples earnings as they would be able to add new content and pictures later on or change the replies and indeed change the whole discussion. All we can do is being cautious in the first place. Have a great day!

Happened once.I put the sad smilie instead of the happy smilie.I felt so stupid and well I just left it that way and forgot it never to repeat that kind of mistake and am trying to be careful. Hope I have inserted the right smilie this time.

You sure did insert the right smiley this time . I agree that putting in a wrong smiley can totally change how your message is read. People tend to put a lot more trust in expressed emotions than the message itsself, so I wonder if this is also true for the emotions a smiley express. Thank you for your contribution!

I'm actually more intrigued to know what the heck a spiderweb of fat is? I have had a well intentioned approach mess up here before, yes. I once tried to spell out a word in huge letters using smaller letters to build up each individual letter of the big word. In the window it was all lined up perfectly, but when I posted it, all the letters ended up grouping together and it looked like a text dump of crap! Thankfully the person who received it was still able to work out what I'd tried to do as it was only a 3 letter word in the first place! lol.

Ahh.. the fine art of ASCII that is, James! I haven't tried it before but I have seen peope make full portraits using only numbers and letters and sometimes also different colours. If you want to see my spiderweb of fat you need to visit the discussion 'memories' . It will all become clear then!
