My 16mo old like my older kids likes to play in the dry cat food. Well he scattered it about the kitchen playing with it. SO I swept it up by their food bowl.... Ya know those darn cats especially my "porkchop" Boots wouldn't eat it just kept meowing and rubbing up against my leg. Good grief boots! If I swept it up and used a dustpan to transfer it into his dish he'd eat it! PICKY PICKY! Yet his sister is always scrounging out of the used dished my "lazy" kids don't put away. I don't get it!?!?

haha. try starving the cat just for a day and see if it changes his behavior.. i don't know if that suggestion even makes sense. LoL. it won't hurt to try??

Actually when I filled it up again today I locked him in a bedroom & let his sisters eat who are like half his size. When I've tried not to feed them til the end of the day or so, to get him to pick @ the pile of food. Does not work he will keep bugg'n me every waking moment.

My 26 month old does the same thing. Everytime i try to put it up out of the way so he doesn't mess with it someone else in the house will put it back down so the cat can eat. He has even got ahold of the whole container of food once and trust me it was a big mess.

My second daughter actually would sit there and EAT the dry cat food with the cats! That was crazy! He likes to make 'cat soup', not only scattering it but filling up the waterbowl with dry food and they won't eat it. TG the dog will so it's not wasted.
