This photo shows a snowplow on my street just after the snow started to fall this past Thursday. (2-26-09) We were having the snow fall in my area at the rate of nearly 3 inches per hopur. All told in just over 4 hours my area got a foot of snow. I had fun snowblowing it 3 times that day. It also was very windy as well. I also did my neighbors driveway as he is out of town and asked me to tend to his place. So I felt it was my duty to plow his drive as well. Do you plow others drives or just your own? Or do you hire someone to do yours for you? HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That looks so pretty AGB! We never really have snow long enoough any more to worry too much about clearing paths or driveways - a lot of people in England had more snow than we did earlier this year! Having said that there is seemingly a forecast that my area is meant to get snow showers tonight and tomorrow which is unusual! I bet it still won't be as pretty as your place! xxx

I can imagining it getting so 'old' after a while AGB! I would love it for the kids though as my youngest is desperate to go sledging but the snow never lies long enough here for that! xxx

Three inches an hour is a lot of snow! I don't have the strength or energy to keep anyone else's driveway or walkway cleared. We have to shovel the walk in front of the house here and sometimes that's all I can do! I won't hire anyone to do it as long as I can myself.

I've a long driveway and very little else to shovel etc. But I do have a snowblower. Only when the snows really wet do I actually shovel it. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well back when we had our Bad Snow Storm here in December even though we all live in a Condo, they do not have anyone who is responsible for Shoveling the driveway and sidewalks, etc. so if it is hard to get in and out of your parking spot or to the Car, no one really seems to notice or care. So one Sunday when it was the worst my husband was outside Shoveling and even had to shovel out around our Car one day when he almost got stuck. So if we lived in a place of our own it would be no big deal to want to help others as we have no choice here.

I certainly feel for you! I will sometimes have someone shovel my walk if I'm having a particularly bad day and can't move around very well but I try to do it myself since it's good exercise. If I had a snowblower I would certainly do my neighbors' walks and driveways! My garage opens out to the alley so sometimes I can't get out if the plows have heaped snow at the end of the alley. But if it's that bad, I'd rather not go out anyway!

sort of enjoy soing it. It's a great form of very physical exercise by hand. Same with a snowblower but on a smaller scale. It really works out the cardio system. Too much though if I don't slow down. For a 45 minute job I take a few breaks due to my bronchial asthma. Keeps me from having an asthma attcak or heart attack. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~
