... so what are the other ways to conserve energy, therefore, prevent global warming, therefore, save the planet? I know this discussion is a bit serious but, saving the planet is. Specially since it's summer in many parts of the world. The temperature starts to get high and we use more of our electric fans and air conditioners. How do you conserve energy? How about water? There are so many things that we can do and I hope to hear from you. Thanks! happy myLotting!

I am forever switching lights off in rooms that people have left! I always switch the TV etc off rather than leave it on stand-by; only put as much water in the kettle as I'm going to use; put on a jumper before resorting to turning on the heating; close internal doors to hold the heat in; switch the oven off 5 minutes earlier & let things finish off in the conserved heat; shower rather than take a bath; use low energy light bulbs... it makes economical sense as well as environmental

Hi, We have the heat shut off. It is as cold as it is outside, you really don't need heat. You can use sweaters, blankets and other items you already have in your home to keep warm. We also moved into an apartment building with more apartments in it. It seems that we never have to turn on the heat because surronding tenants have the their heat on. We got an apartment that has a lot of natural light, which helps not use the light most of the day. I started a blog recently. I have posted a few items that help answer your question. In the near future I will have many more posts on this topic. Please check out my blog continiously to get more answers to your question. http://amoorasfrugallife.blogspot.com

Hello Amoora, Thank you for your comment. I will be dropping by your blog soon. Conservation of energy has become a "hot" topic more than ever. Maybe because we are more aware of our actions and maybe, we have the technology to conserve it better. I will continue to find ways to save the planet one small step at a time. Cheers!

News Flash. NASA has admitted that much of the information they gave out on Global warming was not correct. Conserving is always a good idea. We have shades on our south facing windows that we close in the summer to keep the heat out.

Very simple, yet, it makes a point. Anything to keep the energy consumption down. Thanks Bob. Cheers!

hello zorlone, your idea is really nice. We really need to do something to prevent global warming. Your suggestions doesn't only help save the world, and also it will save our daily cost. If you will turn off electric fans or air-conditioners when not in use, it will save us from electric charges. This is like hitting two birds with one stone. thanks take care

Hey red amethyst, Cute kid! Yes, there are simple things we can do that would matter a lot not only to our daily energy consumption, but if everybody does that, we will all be able to extend the use of all of our appliances, lower the cost of daily power usage, decrease the demand for energy, decrease fossil fuel usage/demand, slow global warming, extend the life of our only planet. whew!!! :) happy mylotting!
