I think Chinese is the easiest language to learn because I am Chinese :-p But I am sure it is not easy for foreigners to learn them. I have heard how people describe the Chinese characters, it is very interesting like what you said about a shape of the tree :-p You can learn Mandarin first, I believe it is the easiest way to start. :-)

Chinese ~ Mandarin, they are the pretty much same thing. they have sets of "english spelling" that you can find easier to pronounce.

I am very glad to show you Chinese. It has 23 initials(consonants) and also 23 finals(vowels). It doesn't matter how many letters it has, the most important is we can learn how to read it. What kind of chatting tools do you use? If you like we can have a chat on net by QQ (it is like ICQ).

^_^ ni hao!.... sadi1007!.... Mandarin is the basically language of Chinese. It differs accordingly from different provinces of Chinese. If you will know the basics of Mandarin you can easily understand other dialects of Chinese. I think you can even easily learn and understand other near Mandarin languages like Japanese Nihongo, Korean, Vietnamese and the like races and cultures. If a baby child can learn simple words in just a few years then why not adult also. ^_^ Thanks and Enjoy!.... myLot!....

shape of trees? haha they are derived from there... but i would say korean is the tougher language to study. It's too many boxes and they all look alike. It's hard to pronounce some of their words too.

Someone told me Chinese is very easy to learn. I don't know whether this is true or not. I also don't know if they were talking about the spoken language or the written language. I'm curious to hear the other comments in this discussion.

in my opinion, maybe the most different part is not the chinese itself, but the way of thinking of the nation, every language represents the way of thinking that the people who speak it,china is a big country whose history is five thoundsoud years long, its language also gets a lot of historical fators involve in its language. so it's easy to understand why chinese is so hard for other countries'learners.

I'm Chinese .some of my college classmates are from other countries. They can speak chinese well, but it seems rather difficult for them to write chinese characters. They are here in China for just two or three years. you see, Its easy for them to command speaking in chinese in a short time. But for learners learning English ,most of us chinese find it hard to speak english freely even after a long time of studying.
