This warning came to me in an email and I thought now what. It seems that researchers have found that playing a video game using a hand held controller can cause PlayStation palmar hidradenitis. Sounds serious considering it was published in The British Journal of Dermatology. This is something we should take very seriously. Until you read the article and find that it is based on the study of one child and the symptoms went away after she stopped playing the games for a few days. Sony, which makes playstation, now will include a warning in their users manual. Is this even newsworthy considering there have been several million playstation game counsels produced and this is the first reported case of problems. This study is important because it points out how we can be misled by people wanting to make a name for themselves and how companies are so afraid of lawsuits for people own stupidity.

Do you think Sony should redesign the controller to prevent this or should they add a section to the Users Manual Titled: For Stupid People who have no Common Sense.

That's odd. I have a PS3 and I play it quite often. Hopefully this won't affect me much, because I love my Ps3. Thanks for sharing this though, and I'm gonna check out the study on my break. Thanks again for sharing. As far as the controller design, those things are 50 bucks, and I don't think it will affect me.
