I am new to stoke investing and would like to know what some of you use for an investment strategy? What do you look for in stocks, and how do you pick them. I have a friend who will only buy a stock that pays a big dividend. I would be interested in how you invest.

govertment cmo's they hold the mortgage and you just know their gonna get payed. say they own a building the customer renting the offices or building the govt own's, the govt gets the money up front from renters not at the end of the month. it's the same thing their doing now trying to take over the banks, or part of them. legg mason is a reputable firm for cmo's , but you might need a certain amt to start, you didnt when i got into it but now, i dont know. according to how much you want to invest cmo's always bring in something, even now. and dont put all your money in 1 bank, have a few, paper work at a minimum when you co it online but talk personally to the broker, find a location and talk 1 on 1, go there, show them you mean business and aren't gonna fool around, and always have an advisor. make sure he does what you tell him and if he dosent send him a certified letter to the firm the head honcho's always see them first, and he'll be gone in a heart beat. after loosing a bundle before i got into cmo's i recooped in 2 years plus 6 figures.

Sure don't know how I missed this thread when you started it. I follow the stock market very closely and even have a web site devoted to understanding market behavior. It is rather complex and confuses people, but you are friends with the guy who runs the blog! Email me at the address on the web site. http://fp1.centurytel.net/polydimensional

I think that you have to develop your own strategy to win at the stock market. I understand that you just don't want to dive in head first and put all your hard earned money on the line(who can blame you). What I do to perfect my strategy and to stay familiar with terms and methods is I registered for a site called Wall Street Survivor. This is a free website that gives you play play money to compete against other doing the same. Everyone receives a rank based on performance which gives you a chance to pick the brain of some of the top players and find out what makes them so successful. Yo can use this info to put together your own strategy. I will post the link below for all who are interested in doing the same thing.Good Luck!!! P.S. Cash prizes are available for best performance and the website is http://www.wallstreetsurvivor.com/
