The Bible is actually really clear in that matter. In the Gospels Jesus himself refers to God as his Father(read this in John 3:16 and John 10:36)there are others too, thus pointing to the fact that Jesus is God's son and not God himself. After Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist, God's voice was heard saying that Jesus was his son and that he approved him you can read this in Mark 1:11. These are only a couple of examples that show that God and Jesus are distinct from each other. God being superior as the Creator of all things and Jesus being his son.

Jesus is God who became man.As it is written in John 1:1-2 "In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning." and then in John 1:14 says :" The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. WE have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

It is my belief that Jesus Christ was God the Son (In the trinity) who took on the physical form of a man. His spirit and mind remained Godly. He did not sin, because he was not a man in every sense of the word. He cried, felt pain, loved his mother and had friends. So in essence, he was both!
