Do we need to analyze the bible?

In my own words, God says in the bible If It were so I would have told you So I am thinking what God wanted us to know he told us, so why say, "what this means is...: and things like that instead of just taking it at its word? Why analyze and try to figure out what he means when It states what he means... What do you think?

The Bible is not man's teaching tool like he is using it in the churches. It is God's teaching tool. Very often God will use the Bible to verify something He is telling or showing you. Read your Bible so you will know what you read and where you read it and then let God show you what it really means. Where man ever got the idea he was supposed to get up in a church, read a few verses from the Bible and then spend an hour expressing his opinion of what it means is beyond me. And....People are willing to pay him to do it. I don't think this is what God had in mind when he allowed His Son die on the cross. Art

I agree with you! I think it is necessary to surround yourself at times with people with the same mind for religion you have, but I am not about or for organized religion. God would rather you pray silently alone, and mean it, than openly do so in church and not, so I think that as long as your heart is in the right place and you have faith and believe, and know who God is an nurture that relationship, you are doing good by him...

I agree with you 100%. Our personal relationship with God and Jesus are to be kept private. The Bible tells us to go in our closet and pray simply meaning to do it in private. We need to assemble with others of the same belief as ours but we need to choose these people the same way we would our friends, very carefully. People are being lead off out into left field so far they will never be able to get back by Christian teachers that simply don't know what they are doing. A lot of them are doing it for the money. I have one simple rule. If man and his money built it then God had nothing to do with it. If our economy does crash and the church members don't have the money to keep the note paid on most churches what will happen to that church? Some bank's lock will be on the front door before you can spit. That tells me God had nothing to do with the building and running of that church. Art

I believe that! I think overanalyzing the words, that is when you start to get into trouble...I say take it at face value.

Hi stacyv! I read the Bible and I just take it as I understand it. I know God is guiding me and showing me how. I do not want to analyze it and make it complicated. I will just get confused. Take care and have a wonderful day! lovelots..faith
