I am looking into joing the online helium writing site, but I have a few questions. to get paid on this site, you need the rating, or stars. How do you get these stars? Does anyone have personal experience with this site? If so, please share...I am trying to decide if joining will be worth my time.

Hi surveytaker! I am a member of Helium. You sign up and choose your title in which to write an article. Your article will be rated in comparison to others under the same title by other writers to determine your ranking. By achieving a certain rank you get writing stars. By being the one ranking other articles..you get rating stars. They have a marketplace option in which you can submit to a set price and writing contests that you can win cash prizes. Your article can also be picked out of the blue and bought by a magazine or site. You don't lose your rights to the article they buy and can still make a small amount of profit through Helium itself. I enjoy writing there. Be sure to read the "about" to get all the details.

I am a member of the Helium site. To get paid, you need a rating over 75% and a rating star, and, of course you need to write articles. They have a place called the marketplace where you go to see if there is anything you want to write about. If you find something, then you write about it and use specifics ( they tell you exactly what they want) Then you compete with other writers for the subject you chose and if you win, you get paid!!!

I have written a few articles on Helium. The stars and ranking system goes not only by what other viewers rank you, but also by how many articles you read and rank yourself. You can go for months without writing an article and still have a good ranking with the stars just because you go in and rank other articles. I myself had one article sell on there last year. I haven't done much with it lately because I have found other sites that seem to pay better for writing. Although, the one article that sold paid me $50 so that was a great break for me. Good luck to you in finding your niche in writing and earning money online!

Thanks for the advice! Which other sites do you write for?
