I went crazy

in the USA as I kept buying clothes. First, the weather was in the 60's so it was o.k. and I was so happy to be with two of my children plus DIL and grandson. He ran down the hall to me in school - I did not think that he would remember me as he was four years old last Saturday and I hadn't seen him for 6 months. But he did and we gave each other lots of hugs and kisses and it was all so great. when I arrived at my Daughter's home guess what was there? a parcel of different kinds of toffee from Lilybug. Oh, it is so good. Never have had candy like what she does.Totally amazing. I had to hide some before everyone ate it all up. I wandered around the shops in a daze until my D and DIL took charge. They just parked me in front of the changing room and I waited there whilst they came with arm loads of clothes. I've never bought so many clothes at one time in all of my life. I bought 4 dresses, two - two piece outfits, six tops, 3 pairs of pants, 4 pairs of shoes. It was incredible. I didn't have this amount when I got married! I went to Walmart where I got fantastic material at 1.47 per yard for my gift baslets. I also went to dollar store where it did not take long for me to fill a basket. Kohl's was on my list and then on the way to Jefferson City we stopped at - I've forgotten the name. (Is it bath and beauty?) A shop where you buy bathroom products , soaps and creams etc. The sale was incredible and I bought Christmas presents!! Fantastic buys at two and three dollars. The drive to Tennessee was wonderful and so was the visit with my friends. We had a fun filled time just being together with their family and on Saturday celebrated Zachary's birthday. I was so happy to see Tennessee - such a beautiful state. North Carolina is beautiful too. We did so much shopping at a store called ROSS'. Loved it. Oh, and I waved to my Mylot friends in N.C. and Tennessee. On Sunday, there was SNOW. I have not been in snow for thirty years and oh, wasn't it cold? Monday morning I was hoping that the flight would have been cancelled but the international flights were not cancelled - only the domestic flights. I had dinner one night at Olive Garden and a breakfast at Ihops - cholesterol heaven! The only sad thing was that my son has lost his job as the company has closed down. My son and his family will be home in June as my DIL's contract will be up by then. She had a 3 year contract teaching at a middle school in N.C. They want to see more of the world while their son is young so are planning to go to another country - perhaps the U.K. as Stefan is British or Dubai or Jordan for two years. I had the most wonderful vacation and feel so happy to see my daughter's home and how she has decorated it. Even going through Immigration and customs was not a chore as everything went smoothly. Sorry that I have had to delete my friends' postings - there is no way that I could reply to 174 emails. Have you had a vacation wheer ewverything just went right?

I'm glad you had such a good time! I've never been on a really great vacation. I've had some where everything went wrong, then I've had some where it went smooth, but none that have ever been so perfect.

LOL, nice to know I'm being thought of. My move went well.. as well as any move can. We're still working on settling in. Hopefully today my TV will be hooked up, as well as my washer and dryer.

How are you Kat? How was the moving? yes, it was perfect. They did not even search my luggage at Customs when I arrived back on the Island. I was scared of that. Evertyhing was great. I thought of you whilst in Walmart! I could not find anyone to help me to buy material that I use to cover my gift baskets. I did eventually get someone to help! I was telling my daughter about your Walmart experiences. Thanks for responding

Yes, I knew that you would like the wave. I had to explain it to my children as they asked me why I was giving the 'royal' wave to the woods and snow.! I went to a store called Ross'. I fell in love with that place. I got a dress that was $149.99 reduced to $18.99! How could I not love it? I could never have afforded to pay the full price. I loved the Dollar store too.

I was near Jefferson City and it was fantastic. My GF cooked up a storm (we helped) and we had such fun together. I was glad to get away from my boss for a few days and feel stronger now to deal with him. Thanks for responding. You live in a beautiful state. did you see me wave to you?

I am glad to hear you had a nice vacation. It does sound like you had a lot of fun. How on earth did you get all that stuff back home with you? I am glad you got the toffee in time to enjoy it. I am also glad to hear that you liked it. I hope you did not eat too much of the Espresso one at once.

We had a wonderful time. I came with no clothes at all - just what I was wearing and a friend of Rachel loaned me some warm clothing. I went back with 2 pieces checked in and i was overweight but they did not penalise me. Of course I ate too much of the toffee at one time. what else could I do? It was just so wonderful. I hope that yoiu are o.k. re your grandfather. Blessings

Ohhhh......it sounds like you had a great time, I'm glad. I live in Mexico and when I go back to the states, which isn't very often, I'm the same way. The selection of clothes and the cheap shopping drives me crazy. I sell real estate here in the Yucatan and many times when I have returning clients they ask me what I would like them to bring to me. It is so hard to narrow down the list to just one or two things. Maybe the name of the store you went to was Bath and Body Works? One of my favorites, I really miss all of their creams and sprays, especially their sales. Sometimes I go to their website and just dream!

Yes, it was Bath & Body Works! How clever of you. It was amazing - this is where I brought many Christmas gifts - some items were 75% discounted. Many thanks for responding

Oh dear.. Sometimes its good to be crazy you know... (in happiness) I am an emotional person, so I do lot of crazy things to make me happy.. Talking about vacations, I have never been to a place where I could do that kind of shopping.. The city which is best for shopping is the city I already live in. Rest are best for having vacations but no not for shopping. And umm I would say I never had the kind of perfect holiday ever till now.. yeah I did enjoyed a lot when I was kiddo, when hanging out with your parents was fun. Now I find it more of a pushy thing from my parents to take us(me n brother) every where they go and don't let us go on ourselves at all. I recently visited to Andaman N Nicobar Islands.. It is a cluster of many islands together. It was fun to be there and swim in the ocean and walk on the beach.. But that place was obviously not the best place to be with your parents.. You should be with your pals when visiting a beach!! But that's okay I went through it and did end up also enjoying a little.. after trying. And yes we bought like 10 pairs of sea shell earrings 4 bangles all made of shells. 5 pairs of real pearls. and a shirt. And oh How can I forgot all those sea food which was terrific!! But I will still not call it the "perfect vacation". Cause me and my father (sometimes mother as well) don't go very well together.. So lots of times things got heated up with certain fights and yelling.. But that's okay As I said, I went through it. Was a god vacation.

I do understand it as well.. That is why I try to enjoy as much as I can.. But things now just get awkward with parents... with me now 20 and my brother who is 22 years old now.. I am not saying that we are old enough to be on our own.. (although we are.. kind of) I just want them to stop being pushy with us. And start trusting us at least if not our friends. I would have loved going out with them if they allowed me to take a girl friend of mine with me or my cousin.. OR They (my parents) would have tried to fix the vacation with one more family whose children are of our age or even around our age.. so that we won't get bored and alone there. I do have this complain that my parents never think of our friends. Its like they are unnecessary people in our life.. In fact avoidable people according to them. I don't want to drift away from my parents .. but they are forcing me to be by pushing and dragging me around them every where and not letting me on my own. That is why I sneak out sometimes. They never even understand the girls day out at all. I don't want to hide any thing .. But I have to live my life you know.

You sound like you are young and want to break away from your parents. This is understandable but I expect your parents also realise that soon you will not want to go away with them and they may be clinging to you a bit. That is also understandable. Fortunately, my children never went through that with us. They wanted to be with us even though they were given freedom away from us. It varies with families. The life you are living now with your brotyher and parents - well - you can't live this part of your life again with anyone else but your family. Cherish it - you will soon be on your own and then guess what ? You will appreciate them more and come back to them as a freind. Many blessings and enjoy your life.

You are so right. I adore Girl's night out' even though I could be old enough to be your grandmother! Parents have to learn to stand back and watch their children make their own mistakes. Parents have to trust their children and you and your brother are now adults. It would have been better to haver had your friends there too. I can understand that. I always welcomed my children's friends even though a few of them did give me cause for concern. Fortunately, they later decided to drop the friendship - but I did not criticise them or their friends. I just loved my children with all my heart and told them daily how much I loved them. This is because I had a horrible childhood where I was so neglected and abused. I was determined to be the best mother out. I did set standards but they could always come to me or their father if there were problems at all. Your parents should trust you. Ask themn about their parents and what they were allowed to do. It might show siome light on the issue. Maybe they were not trusted. Blessings
