Did you see this article? http://www.reallynatural.com/archives/technology/12-year-old_boy_builds_recycle.php
A 12 year old boy built a shelter out of recycled plastic, packing peanuts and wire. His inspiration was the number of homeless people he'd seen on a visit to Chicago. It looks like it could very easily be built from stuff people would find in the trash. He even made a bed of plastic garbage bags stuffed with the peanuts.

That is a wonderful story!
Coming from a boy of only 12 too
Just goes to show that it doesn't always takes years of studying sciences and loads of exams but sometimes awareness, good will and common sense is all that is needed!
Let's hope his invention is now put to good use (and whoever uses it doesn't forget that the idea was his)
Great inspiration coming from the youth of today too!

Unfortunately, somebody will take this and figure out a way to make a fortune on it, but maybe some of those who really need it will be able to put it to their own good use.

I had another terrible thought too - I hope those that inspired him to invent this will not have to pay a huge amount to be able to have one

This young boy should have a great future. Talk about a helpful creation to help homeless people. This is amazing. To think his desire to work on a project of this nature is above and beyond video games is exciting. At 12, most kids are glued to the television or playing games either on the computer or their cell phone. Thanks for sharing this interesting story.

You're right. Most middle income people of his age would simply be disgusted at the site of homeless people, not moved enough by their plight to try to help.
