So, my husband, our daughter and I live in a little apartment and I really want to buy a house, but I'm not sure how to go about it. My husbands credit is pretty bad, mine is pretty good, but I don't work. Do any of you know how to go about doing any first time home buyer programs or programs for people with bad credit?

The place you should start is at the bank. Go to your bank and be pre-approved for a mortgage. If you call a mortgage broker you will be sure to get the best interest rate. Once you know how much money you can spend, then you will have a better idea of what price range you should be looking for houses in. If you both have jobs and your credit is good, they will take that into consideration. If you cannot get a mortgage, get a credit card for your husband with a very low limit. Use it for small purchases and pay it off each month. After about a year, he should have his credit rating back. This is how I got my husband's credit rating back.

He just bought a car, so that should better his credit, right?
