Oops, I responded twice to the same discussion. Sorry!

Yes, I did but it was not intentional. Even it was not my fault too. I was writing my comment on that discussion and after finishing I clicked the "Post response". After a few second, I saw that the same response was posted twice there.
I was amazed. I immediately apologized to that user.
Has that happened to you?

I think this happens to most of us at some point. It has certainly happened to me.
If the owner of the discussion is a friend I send a PM and ask them to report the mistake. If I see it on one of my own discussions I comment on one of the responses and report the other one.
This is another occasion when you can PM a friend and ask them to report it for you.
When myLot staff see the report then they will remove one of the responses and all will be as it should be.
Don't worry and happy Lotting!

That would be a good idea but the person is not in my friends list and I forgot where I made such a ridiculous mistake.
I am really really careful now onwards so it could never happen again but I would take a point of your suggestion and would do the same.
Thanks for the suggestion.

This has happened to me on atleast three to four occassions. It's because of the slow internet connection that i had at home. It would hang after the first response and then assuming that it had not posted, i would respond again. Feels mighty foolish it tell you.

Yes, it looks very awkward when you see your post being posted twice or thrice. Why don't you use my trick. Always, open the "respond" or "Add comment" link in the new window or tab. If the page hangs then you will have the luxory of refreshing the actual page where the discussion is posted. In this case you can save yourself from double posting!

Hi sanuanu, it is a blush to mention this again here. In the earlier days, I was so careless that to respond the same discussion twice many times. Since I always express my feelings and views relevant to the topics with what I had experienced and share the knowledge I had acquired before so the second contents in the same discussions was still the same, only written in different ways of sentences. This would happen often, for some of the contents of the discussions started by different members here are more or less the same.
Nowadays after picking the desirable discussion which I am interested, I would like to give it a positive score before typing my response. Since it is a good topic, why not we encourage him with a good score! What’s more the red word “Rated!” appearing on the top of the button “respond to this discussion” could always remind me that I had responded this topic before, in case I visit this topic again later on. Since then I have never repeated the same discussion twice again.
Happy
posting and good luck.
posting and good luck.

I think its fine since its not intentional...
Maybe something was wrong with your internet provider that time.

It's also happen to me when I'm responding from my Sony-Ericsson K508i, using Opera mini 3 mobile web browser... I don't know why... maybe because when connection is bad Opera mini automatically re-request it... I really don't know why. I feel a bit boil inside when it happen... sigh... it is truly accidental.

It happened to me too! It could be a technical error since i am just using my phone. Sometimes it won't load up then when i reload, there, it made it look like i posted twice. I would like to apologize too on the topic starters because i don't intend to spam or flood their discussions with my responses. It just happen sometimes so i hope they would understand. If only we have the option to delete our responses then i guess this problem is solved right?

Yea, reloading means sending the information again to the server. It will lead to double posting for sure. That's the reason why I always make comment in different page. So, that in such case when page doesn't get loaded then I refresh the page of discussion to see if my comment/response was posted or not!
