Plucking the eyebrows is painful while shaving it needs maintenance. I personally can't hold the pain of plucking, so I just shave my eyebrows keep it nice. How about you, do you prefer plucking your eyebrows or shaving it?

Hi dorisday! I use little wax strips for mine. It's quicker and the effects last longer. I'm afraid to shave anything on my face because I have heard it grows back thicker.

I don't know about that wax strips. Are you using the wax strips used for taking off the hairs in one's legs. Isn't it painful just like plucking? Just curious about it. Thanks for responding.

No..they are smaller and made for certain areas on your face. There is also a "calming" cream inside to keep your skin from becoming irritated. It is uncomfortable but it's quick and the results are great. They use this method in salons as well.

I pluck my eyebrows. When you can insist to do it every morning, you will not feel that pain at all, you will be used to that pain. I don't feel pain to pluck my eyebrows now.

Ouch. . I really can't pluck. I salute to people like you who can tolerate the pain of plucking. I had wished and tried in fact many times to pluck but I can't simply do it. Anyway, I have just to be contented on shaving. Thanks for responding.

Hello dorisday1971 To pluck the eyebrows, you need to do it fast when plucking, hold the clip firmly, cliping at that very bottom of each eyebrow almost touch your eyelids, pull it straight in the direction of eyebrows (hair) growth. The clip should always parallel your face. Hope it would help you a bit if you wanna try it once more.

I quit plucking my eyebrows years ago. I shave them just slightly to give them some shape. My eyebrows stopped growing a few years ago so they are very low maintenance. I use a little bit of pencil to color in where they basically quit growing otherwise I wouldn't have any.

I get carried away sometimes with the pencil and wipe it all off. Don't want to go out looking like a clown.

I used to pluck them up, but I don't really do either anymore. Most think I have nice shaped eyebrows anyway, they are very thick, and I have a scar above one that stands out if I pluck or shave and makes the one on the right eye look funny and misshapen.

Aww..Doris, you are a sweetheart! I need to update that picture. I was thinking about getting Kristen to take some pics of me and my husband this evening. Just some candid shots as we sit and watch television and eat dinner. But perhaps, I'll just pull the photos from the Grand Canyon trip we took at Christmas time

Your avatar shows how beautiful you are and I don't think you need some shavings of eyebrows. Leave it that way for you are blessed with beautifully shaped eyebrows.

I pluck my eyebrow instead of shaving it! I think shaving it could be scary for me and therefore I have always pluck my eyebrow, and actually after awhile it's not that painful!

My friends also say that plucking doesn't hurt but I tried many times and it really hurts. I would still stick to shaving, anyway I only have few eyebrows that need to be taken.

i pluck them. but i do prefer threading them. it's less painful and more effective and gives you the natural look. anyhow, i did try shaving once, and my eyebrows became quite poke-y when new hair grew out. And it didn't look very appealing. So i'd go for plucking. it takes a longer time to grow back, and even if it does, it doesn't look as messy.

How do you do threading. This is the first time I heard that, sorry for being so naive about it. . . Plucking actually looks better but the pains isn't tolerable for me. I do shaving of my eyebrows twice a week.

Plucking eyebrows is supposed to be painful but I have never had a problem with it,just recently I purchased eyebrow strips shapers from the chemist ,you lay them along the shape you want then whip them off.It works a treat and it takes ages before they grow again,my daughther cringes when I tell her as she has hers waxed. She sats no sense no feeling may she is right.

I have very bushy natural eyebrows so I am forced to pluck them. I have been doing this for years now so am used to the pain. However, it takes for about ever to do, so I am considering switching to waxing them instead. I tried shaving my eyebrows when I was younger, and they turned out horribly so I no long even attempt to do that. I found it is very hard to get the shape you want with a razor. Unless their is some kind of tool for shaving eyebrows, I will stick to plucking and waxing.

I guess shaving is not advisable for bushy eyebrows because it becomes messy to look at when the eyebrows start growing again. It is an advantage for me to have thinner eyebrows that I can just shave it.

yeah, plucking is so painful while shavinf is painless. It only becomes painful when you hit your flesh with the blades. Better be careful. Happy mylotting.

I pluck my eyebrows after every 20days. Though it used to pain a lot in the beginning, now I have become used to it. Plucking is much better than shaving. Bacause plucking keeps the volume same everytime which shaving cannot.

Admittedly, plucking the eyebrows gives better results than shaving them. . .. But I still don't have the guts to pluck my eyebrow. Just the thought of it gives me pain. My pain tolerance is too shallow and believe me, I pass out when I'm in pain.

mgraham 126 I dont do either I just leave them as they are I have only had my eyebrows tidied up once

It's okey to leave your eyebrows the way it looks especially if you have nice eyebrow. I am sure you are blessed with nice eyebrows. Welcome to mylot and I hope you will enjoy the discussions here. Happy mylotting.

I pluck. I've been doing it for years. I didn't start until I got out of high school. I have very Brooke Shields type of eyebrows. I like them. When I first started plucking, my brows almost met in the middle. I hardly have to pluck at all anymore, which is great. My wicked stepmother used to shave her eyebrows and then draw them back on with an eyebrow pencil. I say, wtf. What is the point? I think women who do this, look cheap.

i don;t like to shave or wax or tweese my eyebrows. from childhood i didn;t do plucking or waxing or shaving ,for my eyebrows. if we do those methods ,hair will grow more at that place and we should do those methods frequently. i will be lazy ,for weekly once shaving or waxing. i like natural hair only , on eyebrows. and i like and have dark eyebrows only .

I have very bushy eyebrows. I used to shave them but the hair seemed to grow back faster. Then I started to pluck them and in the beginning they hurt all the time. But after time, I just got used to it. Now that I've been doing it for a few years now the hair does not grow back as thick. I also like waxing because it last longer and threading at times. Threading hurts more then waxing but lasts longer. I still prefer plucking but if I have an major event and want a neater look, I just get it waxed.
