I want to start writing but I don't know how to start and where to start. Could you please share some of your experiences and tips on writing? I do write at times but they are quite scattered and I want to start writing seriously.

Well, you should try writing in your interests but first of all, you have to think about what you are going to write about, it doesn't matter if your discussion comes out with scattered thoughts, you can divide those thoughts and focus on one each time you write a discussion, then you can take the other thought and start a discussion on that one.

Yes that's a good tip. I am now keeping a journal to jot down the ideas for future reference.

Getting started to write can be quite difficult, but when you do start it can be a very awarding experience. When I started I used Triond as I think it is a good site for beginners, but then I moved onto Helium. The writing standard is much higher at helium but it pays much better as you now get upfront payments if you have a writing star, plus it gives you many topics and titles to write on. I am pretty addicted to this site now, and log on several times everyday as well as write an article on most days.

Absolutely it is quite difficult to get started and I agree that it would be easy thereafter. I have heard about Helium and will certainly check it out. Thanks for the response. It was helpful to me.

I like to write but these days I am not able to find time. You can start writing about something you know about which does not require too much research. You can write about money saving tips or share something you know and think others may not. It will help craft a better article and you could earn. When you develop interest, start writing with more research.

Yes that's a good idea to write something that requires little research. Thanks for the response.

I've been writing articles since this time last year, and I have around 200 published online. I also have four blogs that I write on regularly. You can find links on my profile. You should start by joining a writing site, a review site, or start a blog, and start writing. The more you write the easier it gets and the more you can improve your skills. Personally I have found Helium to be the most useful site, but some writers prefer Associated Content, and others do well with Triond.

200 articles in a year is very impressive indeed. I shall certainly take a look at your blog. I have just joined Triond and I shall start writing there once I get tp know it better. Thanks for the response.

Yes Dange_amit, I do keep a diary, but I don't write in it everyday. I think I should start writing in it daily. Thanks for the response

I think you should read first. read more and learn how others write . then you can do it yourself. I like writing. sometimes I think writing is just not for anybody. Just for myself. just because I want to keep my memory. Furthermore when I grow up,I can give my dairies to my daughter. haha. Write informly first, and then writeformly.

Writing comes from the inside. Do you feel inspired by something? Are you watching TV and have an opinion? Is nobody around? Put that down, simply write, describe your thoughts. Writing articles can be different. Start with 'daily news'. Have you witnessed a car accident, a man helping the old lady to cross the street today? Write about that in a few words. Clear and short. Then try to insert an opinion. Blogging can make a good start, I personally started that way and that was a very good experience. I am still blogging and still learning to write, to express myself. Good luck! PS: I agree with you Strongheart.

I usually write about topics that I'm interested in so that I have a lot of things to write about. It's okay to have scattered thoughts at the beginning because I write a draft first. When I'm done with the draft, I then go over it and start to focus on a specific topic and organize it.
