we use both the cell phones and also the landline, we have both the connections and we use it accordingly. sometimes we cant use landline when we find the destination we want to call is expensive through mobile and also the vice versa and it is not all the times we can found the range on mobiles and we will have problems and hence we use the landline, in this way we have some good with mobiles and also with telephones and hence we have the both and we need the both and also my parents havent kept a mobile with them and hence they would wish to have landline and it is also the reason we have landline.

its not cheap in india.I think we have to pay sexvice tax of 256 rupees per month we use or not and call charges extra so,its best to use mobile phone with life time validity. Its cheap in india due to competition between companies of mobile services

After I got a cell phone, I disconnected my land line as well. I wish I could have kept it but it was too expensive to have to pay for both cell and land line.

I live in a place that is quite remote and the landline phone is not available yet. Though telephone companies have offered an alternative like wireless phone, I find the cellular phone better. So I had my home wireless phone cut and have been using the cellular phone ever since.

Hi. chimrani. No, my husband and I have not had a land line phone since, 2004, actually. After that, we have used Vonage and Time Warner Cable digital phone as our telephone service. My husband just felt like using a cell phone would have came out much cheaper than to have a land line telephone.

Yes, i prefer use a landline phone for business and family matters, this is cheaper. Well, of course mobile phone is also one of my very important thing and i don't leave house without this communication device in my bag or inside my pocket.

i can live without a landline phone. ever since i had a mobile phone, i never used a landline phone except in the office for work related calls but for personal calls, i use my mobile phone. since calls got cheaper, i can now call a lot of people than before. and i also got a postpaid plan for my mobile phone. the cheapest plan they offer is you can have 500 text and 20minutes call included in the plan and so on.

We don't have a land line phones either. I think it is more convenient to have cellphones as you can contact the person wherever he is. There are telecom companies in my country offering dsl with free land line. Depending on the person's preference, it may be helpful to them. In my case however, it would just be another unnecessary expense for my family.

i do have a land line but i rarely use it. we had to have one because at that time our broadband internet service provider requires us to have one in order for us to use their service. oh well. i guess people are moving to use their mobile phones more these days, rather than land lines. but at work, i make use of my office phone and not my mobile! haha!

I find it pointless to have a land line phone in this day age with the exception of the older generations before me. My grandparents, my parents, my aunts and uncles have their landline which they use more often than their cell phones. As for myself, I would prefer to have a cell phone than a landline. Its just the convenience of taking it with you as you go about your day to day business.
