I've been fortunate enough to go to plenty concerts as a teen and my favorites are Journey and Rod Stewart. Journey was my first concert and Rod Stewart was my last. I'm not a big fan of Rod Stewart but he puts on a heck of a show. Has any concert you've been to been a big disappointment?

The best concert I been to was the Family Values Tour with Korn. I bet the concert I wanted to go to would of been the best of all time. It was the Up In Smoke Tour I missed it I was so mad.

I haven't been to any really heavy metal concerts except for AC/DC. I would have liked to seen Metallica but it didn't happen. :(

My kids were suppose to go to the AC/DC concert this year that was hear they didn't make it. How was the concert? I have been to Mushroomheads concert before have you heard of them? They started out in Ohio as a local band.

Never heard of the Mushroomheads, sad to say. Ac/Dc was pretty good to see in concert, they sound pretty much the same as they do on record (I'm aging myself again). I found their concert a bit short maybe an hour and a half tops. That's my only gripe with them.

I bet Bruce Springsteen would be a great concert too. You know Rod Stewart claims to HATE that song "Do you think I'm Sexy". He also hated wearing spandex pants, at least that's what he says now! lol ;)

Hi ya fellow Journey fan! *waves* How are you liking Arnel Pineda as their lead singer? Did you pick up "Revelation"? I love live shows... among my favorites were Bon Jovi and AC/DC. A big surprise was Shania Twain. I wasn't planning to go to that show but I bought the tickets for someone as a birthday present and we went together. Shania was just AWESOME live. Such energy and visible love for her fans. That same person, in turn, got tickets for MY birthday and she chose Celine Dion :(((( Without a doubt, the WORST concert I have ever been to. I'm not a huge Celine fan to start with but, admittedly, the woman can belt out a tune. The problem was, she conducted the entire concert in French. Not one word of English to all the fans that had come from far and wide to see her. I am bilingual so I had no problem understanding her but I spent the entire show screaming translations to the people seated near me that didn't have a CLUE what she was saying. I thought it was rude and inappropriate for her to treat her fans that way :( and it definitely spoiled the entire show for me and, I'm sure, many others.

Unfortunately, I'm a Steve Perry fan... I haven't had the pleasure of hearing the new guy yet. How does he compare to Steve Perry? I've been to two AC/DC concerts and the main thing that disappointed me about them was the length of the concert. It was no more than an hour and 30 minutes tops. And I probably didn't look at the time until we got back to our car. Robert Palmer was good, Paul Young (remember him) was very good also. Geez it's been eons since I've been to a concert! Oh, Smashing Pumpkins was good too. Getting back to Journey, it was my first concert and I was no more than 13 years old. I remember Bryan Adams (who was a virtual new comer back then) cursed the whole time. No one was really interested in seeing him anyways. I wish I knew who the other band was....(thinking).....I remember it was Zebra. Rod Stewart was the one that surprised me. He ran around that stage for what seemed to be at least 2 1/2 hours! No wonder he gets around so good for his age!

There have been a LOT of comparisons drawn between Arnel's voice and Perry's. Of course, there will always and forever be only one Steve Perry. The guy had such range... such an easy sound. Man! LOL Anyway, I do enjoy Arnel (Neal Schon found him on Youtube doing Journey covers in his band, The Zoo!) and he's a really active, happy looking guy. He seems to bring a lot of energy to the band onstage. He's 40, I believe, but looks MUCH younger. Million watt smile :) It's funny what you say about Rod Stewart... my mom, who had never been to a concert in her life, went with a girlfriend to see him. She was in her early 50's at the time. She had the BEST time! Came home singin' "Do ya think I'm sexy" at the top of her lungs LOL She said the same -- that he put on just an amazing show.

Now that you brought it up I'll have to look into this new Journey. You're right about Steve Perry, it's no wonder he had all those problems with his throat cuz when he sang you could see he sang at the top of his lungs with veins pulsing etc. I've had my Journey moment..lol.

I've been to so many great concerts, but not as many as I would like... I live in the Caribbean and I like classic and hard Rock, so it's really difficult for me to find concerts that instantly interest me. Yesterday (Saturday March 7th) I was able to go to a Carlos Santana concert in Altos de Chavon and I must say... I'm still having troubles with my throat because I was so excited I couldn't stop screaming. He was what I spected and so much more, just amazing! He has an incredible touch with the guitar (we all know that) but live... it's a whole new experience. I love going to concerts, even if I'm not a fan of the performer, 'cause it doesnt matter, you're gonna enjoy it -Really, I've been there-. Happy MyLotting and have a nice day! Xp

Yes, they are!!! I know what you mean with all the 80's hair bands, I wasn't a fan of that either, but you slowly learn how to appreciate the fact that they helped building the music we listen to now... even if that isnt a good thing. That's why they're so great, they show the whole package, while the young performers settle with havin' a nice commercial image leavin' the music in a second place Sad, but true

I would imagine Santana being a good concert. My ears would be blocked up a bit too after a good loud concert but if you enjoyed yourself its worth it! My favorite song is "Smooth" with Rob Thomas the guitar riffs are wonderful and sound exotic, at least to me. Your right classic rock is great...I was listening to that back when everyone was into the hair bands in the 80's. Thank God that disaster is over with! It seemed that every band had makeup and long perfectly done hair and many of them sounded almost exactly the same to me. I wasn't a big fan of Rod Stewart either, I knew his work but he really gives his all at his concert. I was really impressed with him. There is one thing I've learned....These old guys are real performers!

I have also been to quite a few concerts, and I have to say my favorite was The Black Eyed Peas In whistler. It was a lot of fun, and had some good special guests, Justin Timberlake, Kyprios, and a couple other local artists. Nothing like a free outdoor concert in such a beautiful place!!

I guess a free concert would make for a better experience since your not losing nothing but your time. I like the Black Eyed Peas but haven't been to a concert in quite a long time. :( We have a lot of festivals and concerts here also that I've never been to (of course they are not free!) Of course, with Journey (way back in the early eighties) they had Foghat, Bryan Adams and another band whose name escapes me right now.) Good times.
