Help! I just can't stop myself, LOL

Do you give yourself a limit to how much time you will spend on myLot each day and then repeatedly go over that time limit? I keep saying I will stop at this number today or I will stop at this time and then something catches my eye that I want to respond to or I think of a new discussion I want to start and before I know it my number has lept up significantly and the day is passing me by, lol! I tell everyone myLot is my new obsession! Good thing I can earn a little pocket money for my time!

I was just like you when I first joined mylot. I was really enjoying the experience. Then I cashed out and was even more excited. Then I found out about all of the other wonderful opportunities that folks have on here, and I got a bit distracted. For instance I discovered how easy it was to do another site called Gather, a lot similar to mylot, but a lot less restrictions. Plus better payout options if you live in the US at least. Anyway last month, I cashed out with $10+ at mylot and $25 at Gather. This month I'm on target to cashout again at Gather for another $25 by March 15th. And another $25 cashout at Gather again by March 31st. So I've been asking myself do I really want to continue doing mylot. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the folks here on mylot. A lot of them are pretty funny characters. Then so are the folks on Gather as well. So, I'm at a crossroads right now. I'm not even focused on reaching payout in March on mylot, although I'm sure I will make it before the end of the month at least. I just have been too excited about Gather to be overly concerned with mylot right now.

I just cashed out again at Gather, and I'm on my way to cashing out again. I'm waiting to see the new changes with mylot that are supposed to make it easier to earn money on here. So until I see them, I'm just abiding my time here and not really focused on the minimum payout here.

You'll have to send me your Gather ID so I we can link up. I never did anything with my account and they don't let you change your user name so I decided to just start over.

You know I joined Gather a long time ago through My Points and I never really spent any time with it. I logged into my account the other day to confirm it was the same site others have been talking about but I haven't figured out how things work yet. I figure even if I don't post much and it takes me a while to reach payout it will be great to have some extra spending money when it does happen.

I think the best thing is to just look around. Visit profiles, respond to discussions and when someone has something to say that you like invite them to be a friend. Also set your preferences to email you when things happen with discussions so you can keep up.

Hello Canellita,It is good if you can't stop yourself.Because you will be getting more payment from mylot. You also have a chance to increase your ratings. One of your discussions could be marked best response.I always keep a limit to thirty.Right now because i am focusing on next months earning i have set no limits.

Yes, we don't have a limit at all, it depends on the post, which we like to read and reply, or which attracts or make us to stay for long hours, sometimes i have a target, like i have to complete 100 posts today or 50 posts, this makes me to stay here as long as i can

I will look at the number next to my name and think, I'll round it out and do a few more and then something will cath my eye and the next thing I know it is ten posts later!

Wow, eight hours is a long time! I'm not sure what my longest time was because I usually go back and forth in between other things.

I just joined mylot, and I have decided to devote an hour a day to posting and responding to topics. It is interesting to see what other folks are saying and how they are feeling. It also helps me to keep an open mind. I like what I am seeing so far, but there are other sites that I want to devote time to as well. I am thankful for the little bit of pocket change that I am earning for the time that I spend on here.

It is very interesting to me as well. I like that the participation is from people from all over the world.

No I can't stop after I replied to several discussions, it somehow kept my momentum going. The more I replied the more ideas I have and it just went on, until I took a break from the computer, grab some drinks and realize I've spent 3 hours on Mylot! Enjoy Mylot but when you need to stop, just have a break and have a kit-kat (or something else)!

That is exactly what happens to me. I start responding and visiting profiles of people who have responded to me and it just snowballs.

Oh yes I definately must have a limit or I would always be here. I know that when I get up I can be on from then until when I go to bed - as long as I eat too at some point

When I first signed up for mylot I thought I was addicted to it. I spent hours on here. Now I'm on here only about 30 minutes a day. The computer just doesn't interest me enough to spend that much time here. A friend of mine recently convinced me to join a website she loves. The problem is it seems everyone spends all their spare time sending cutsey messages and pictures that require you to respond to them. I'm now getting about 30 a day from total strangers on there. And truthfully its driving me nuts. I'm just not the sort to waste my entire day on this thing. LOL

I don't really have a time limit. I do have a goal for the number of responses that I would like to post, but not really a set amount of time to do it in. Many times, I will be logged onto mylot while I am watching tv, or doing other things online. Then I come back and browse different discussions and see if there are any that I want to respond to. Time does seem to pass rather quickly on here, though, especially when you find a bunch of interesting discussions that you want to reply to.

I think that is part of the reason I spend so much time; because I am logged on while doing other things and then I get more and more into it.

I do not usually set any limits, but I know when I get on here I stay for hours. I cannot seem to find a stopping point. I do not do MyLot for the money (that's just an added bonus). I do it because I find it interesting and stimulating. It's fun to me!

It is interesting and stimulating to me as well, and I think the stimulation is why I can't stop even when I set limits for myself. I'll have to see if I'm still hooked several months from now.

That is a great going. It depends as to how much time I spend mylotting. If I am at home and have no extra load of work sit a longer time and about setting a goal, sometime does not work. when I feel I am done away I leave it and no more mylotting or else it goes on. But it is surely time consuming.

I spend most of the time myLotting during the week. I find I don't have as much time on weekends.

Some days I'll set a limit, but others I won't. Like for today I thought "Ok, we'll get to 250 and that'll do me". But I bet that by tonight I'll be back on and thinking "Hmm maybe I'll go to 260" lol. So yeah... setting limits probably isn't great for me, because I'll always try and break them, or reset them.

I truly know how you feel about mylot, when I started here several years ago, I spent a lot more time here than I do now. I was truly addicted to mylot. I have been a little bit more active the last several months than I was the 6 months previous. I did make payout last month which I hadn't made since June of last year. But at the rate I am going, I may even reach payout again this month.

lol. Good for you. i wish i have so much time to spend here. i'm a very busy person, and try really hard to get out a little time to spend here. and it's not a bad idea spending time here, since you earn from it. i think you earn as you post or respond to posts right?. then it certainly is a good idea to spend time here. Good luck.
