Ok, I'm very much a thinker here, hahaMany times we've been taught that 1+1=2 in life but that's not right. It's only logical if it's addition in terms of Mathematics. Take this statement for instance - and the 2 shall become one flesh 1+1 is still 1 yet another possibility is the 1+1 will become 3, it's called raising a family? Haha So tell me, how can 1+1=2 in LIFE? Think of it the other way round - 1 ( father )+1 ( mother )=3 ( father + mother + child ) yet it still can be ONE family

Oh my goodness - it's the weekend and we have to work this one out for you! Well in my case 1 + 1 became 2 and then 3 and then went back to being 2 again and then ended up as 1. Can't say I'm particularly perturbed that the equation worked out differently either

Hahaha!~So now the ball has been thrown back to me? HahahaAnswering a question with another question? Haha!~ Hmm....This calls for a nursery rhyme I just wrote in another discussion the other day: Multiplication is vexation, Division is as bad; The Rule of Three perplexes me, And fractions drive me mad!~!~!

are you asking me how 1+1=2 in life is possible? it's easy! LOL! from what you have mentioned, 2 shall become 1 flesh. this means that husband + wife considered as 1! so... 1 (husband) + 1 (wife) = 2 (husband & wife + 1 child) LOL!

ha ha ha ha ha... interesting take in life. And a good play on the word ONE. Well, again, as with the complexity of the english language, it really depends on the context the word is used in. Depending on what that ONE refers to, it can vary in meaning, which you aptly pointed out. Well, whether 1+1 can equal two in life or not, I am not really sure. It could be possible, if I can think of a good logical explanation to proof you other wise. But for now, you have the most logical explanation that I can think of.

heheheh! 1+1=10 for the Filipino family! yeah it's a simple mathematical question... but when it comes to our daily living 1+1 is broad! answers may maybe 1,2,3,10 etc... but it is being a basic knowledge for us on how to add someone in our life to be with for the rest of our life....to add happiness and color in our daily living!

lol =D 1+1=2 only applies in MAths and money, but never in life, when it comes to family.. lol =D This is something that's contradicting as well confusing, and thus we will only understand it as we grow up.. hehe ^_^ Even if we still dun understand the real logic behind it, always remember, 1+1 does not always equals to 2.. lol =D

lol =D It's really so, because from 1 to 2, in between there are 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 etc.. SO by time, 1.5 comes and adding them together, 1+1 is no longer 2, but 3.. lol =D

"1+1 does not always equals to 2" Hmm....very fair statement indeed!~ HahahaIt can go into the "simple yet profound" category

Never thought of this until you brought it to light. So being spiritual I can say I was once blind but now I see. But this is a good one...I never thought about things like that and I don't think I can think of stuff like that. My brain just not made that way. But this is revelation okay....being spiritual again -

Mathematics was never my strong suit and philosophy and semantics is kinda interesting but ultimately, I find them pointless too. I should get me a calculator to make sense of my life. Cheers!!

it's right techinically and in mathmatics, but it's not always correct in our daily lives just like what you metioned here.

Well, it is really a tricky issue for 1+1 =? For the cases in maths, we all know that the answer is two. In the case of real life, it really depends on many other factors. In the meaning of combinations, we can say 1+1 still goes to one. This is because the two parts combined together. In the case of chemical reaction, 1+1 can result in many answers. If we put two chemicals together, it may produce one, two, three...results. For the case of one father adds one mother, we get a child and also a family. It is interesting to talk about this. :)
