Keeping up with the remote control

Why oh why is it so difficult to keep up with the television remote control? I thought it was cool that my stereo came with a remote until it disappeared, lol. I know there are all these little things out there that you can get to attach here and there and everywhere to keep track but we know that isn't going to work. If that was all it took we would never have to search high and low only to locate the cordless phone in the bathroom, lol! How did modern convenience become so inconvenient? But it's ok, I have discovered the secret to finding the remote. It's very simple, just look for something else. When you start moving things around looking for a different item it will appear out of nowhere as if to say "Are you by any chance looking for me?"

Looking for other things really does work but you can also do something considered old-fashioned. You can just take the remote and put it on top of the t.v. before you leave the room. If anybody wants to use it, tell them to do the same and it can be easier to find...I have left my cordless in the freezer, mailbox, under pillows and everywhere else that just didn't make any sense so I can really relate..I thought at one point I had to walk around with a bag on my shoulder with everything in it..I've been through a few universal remotes so I now know what to do!

I've put it on top the tv before and that's the best place for it but you know how it goes...

I had to ask around and see where friends of mine put theirs and I didn't know they were that weird..one said he put his under the couch cushion seeing as though when he loses anything thats the first place he looks..another said she puts hers in her purse because she knows nobody will go in there looking for it and another said that she puts hers in the bathroom on the sink because she is always in and out of there..right now, I can't find mine so I guess its just irony...lol

That is hilarious! Based on where your friends are keeping theirs my guess is yours in in the fridge, lol!

That sounds like a neat trick - I also have one: don't lose it! You can have a box by the television where you put all of the remotes if you have several of them. That usually works better :P Then you won't get into the same accident that my brother did: he sat down on one of our DVD player's remote and he ended up breaking it in two! Thanks for the response on my discussion!

I am thinking of using velcro to attach it to the side of the tv. :-)

We have a love seat in the family room that has a cubby hole in the middle to put your remote and tv guide and anything else you want in there. It is so convenient provided everyone puts it in there after they are done using it. I still find the remote either on the floor or in the kitchen sometimes.

I guess the cubby hole hasn't taken hold yet.

One time I looked and looked for it and finally gave up. Later after I had gone out I found it in my purse! What possessed me to put it there I will never know, lol!

I know what you mean. Right now, we can't seem to find the remote for our DVD/VHS player. I'm sure it's probably hiding underneath the couch. We just haven't had the time the time to look. Fortunately, we have the same player up in our room, so we can just use that one until we find that one we're looking for. No big deal.

Hopefully you don't have one of those DVD players that only functions via the remote!
