Hi everyone, How do you protect yourself from spywares and viruses while surfing the Web? What security precautions you take in mind while surfing the web. Is installing antivirus enough for your secure web surfing?

I stopped bothering with the stupid virus anti-spyware software. To me it was such a joke. It didn't matter if I bought the best of the best programs I was still getting viruses and all. I even had one virus I got embed itself in my virus protection program so everytime I ran the software the virus ran with it causing my computer to crash. I'm starting to wonder if these companies just put the stuff out there to make money off of us. Now they are claiming the viruses & spyware is getting to the point that the software can't even stop it.

Yup you are right there are number of antiviruses which are itself infected by virus and it is unable to clean it. I had different antiviruses before and it wasn't helping me at all. I purchased Norton Antivirus with license ,now im protected as well and even once i got virus in my pc where norton antivirus was not able to clean it then i contacted the company and they provide me with a patch after installing the patch my pc was again clean. Thanks for sharing ,,,have a nice day,,,,, Cheers

I always keep my privacy settings up to its safest level whenever I am using my browser, it’s in a way helping myself secure from other web spamming content. I also, keep a safe and friendly browsing experienced whenever I am on the internet by putting a firewall level high in my system; also, updating my anti-virus program helps me keep a safe browsing experience.

I surf net with total protection. I have NOD32 smart security, Microsoft antispyware installed and I do regularly virus scan after surfing the net and I am happy with my protection. If you dont have enough money to buy antivirus then you can use AVG free or Avast free versions of antivirus but always stay protected form threats.

I have McAfee which seems to be pretty good and gets upgraded often. But still new things come along and you have to stay alert. Even if your virus protection says it has blocked something you need to watch and make sure you can quickly close the page that caused it and that your harddrive is not running. If you can't close the page and especially if you can't close any page and if your harddrive keeps running, then you should turn off your computer with the power switch, wait a little bit like 30 secs. and turn it back on and do a restore to a previous date. This has worked for me many times, twice today, but may not solve all the problems or infections that can get through your virus protection.
