Sometimes if I get to much sleep, I will wake up in a lot of pain. My back will be hurting as well as my other joints. Sometimes I will even wake up with a headache along with all this pain. Do you ever wake up in a lot of pain after sleeping for a long time?

Hi moneymommy! Yes I wake up alot with aches in my back , I have some arthritis in my lower back. I also wake up with headaches often. I find that I wake up much better if I sleep in a hammock .Living here in Mexico its very common. Sometimes I will get up about an hour early , take half a tylenol or something and go back to bed for an hour , it helps .

I find that most days I wake up with a painful back! I think it has something to do with ageing.. And I have arthritis in my shoulder and upper back from a severe injury I had about 20 years ago. I went to a chiropractor, who fixed me up pretty good, but told me at the time that I would probably have pain in my neck, and shoulders later in life. Sometimes I get it in my lower back - the same thing happened there about 30 years ago.. It seems as if I was a bit accident prone in my younger days! - Derek

YES ~ especially, when long time sleeping and "more than extra" period of time. Let say for 18 hours, not just back pain but also I feel my brain takes time to "balance". Actually, it is not a good habit but sometimes exhausted and need more time to sleep. Unfortunately, it went up to more than what my body needs. So, from "to sleep" it became "too sleep"...LOL!

I sleep on a hard mattress, to support my back, thus reducing any back pains. Whenever I sleep on soft beds (like in hotels or friends' houses), I will wake up with lower back pains, and neckache as well. I'm not sure if your pain is related to the bed/matress, or something else.

Yes, I can relate to this and do very often! Unfortunately I spend most of my waking hours in pain so I welcome all the sleep I can get. I do know that when I sleep too much or just don't feel like getting up, I will always end up hurting all over but it calms down after being up for awhile. It seems that people who suffer while awake have problems sleeping anyhow so any sleep they get is treasured, Does this happen to you as well?
