Well, this is another incident happened with one of my friend, when I was living out of my home town. We were three sharing the same room. I was out on job. They are Prabhash and Amit. Well, Amit used to do a night job while Prabhash was on leave for that day. Prabhash went to the market for some shopping. He instructed Amit to sleep and not to cook food. Well, Amit did put on pressure cooker on the gas stove to cook rice. Well, it takes time to cook rice. He came to bed to relax. Soon he went to deep sleep. Well, after half an hour when Prabhash came back then he saw some smoke coming out of the house. He ran towards the room and it was full of smoke. Ofcourse the room was closed from inside. He was shouting like anything to wake him up. After sometime he got up and the whole room was full of smoke. people there was commenting that if that could have contined for 15 more minutes, the house could have been on fire! The roof was all black! Don't sleep while cooking, specially rice!

ohhhhh I know...it did hapenned to me once. My mom ordered me to cook rice on the stove and I wanted to take a quick nap of 10 min but it went for 20 min...as I woke up, there was a strong smell. I went up and the rice was burnt and all wrinkled. I closed the stove and added cold water to cool in the saucepan to cool it down. When the water was added, the cold water was boiling. a terrible experience. My mom yelled at me. i was around 14 at that time...urgh

A little mistake. It was not a pressure cooker but a vessel! Sorry guys. No wonder you got yelled by your mom. This is my tendency too but I never cook in absence of my friends or mum. These people help me doing things in the right way.

Hey there! That was close man.lol Good thing your friend got back on time. Yeah, you should never sleep while you are cooking. Do you guys use pressure cooker to cook rice? What a way to cook rice.lol We use rice cooker man. It's safe and cooks rice very well. We only use pressure cooker for hard to tenderize meats. Specially if the meat is from an old calf it's like eating leather.lol I hope your friend will never do that again. Stay safe! Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

No, no. In fact it was a vessel not a pressure cooker. Sorry. I don't know what a rice cooker is. I have only used pressure cooker in my life and that too wasn't used on that day by my friend. It was || this close only few more minutes and things could have been burnt out, as said by my friend.

Wow!! Really a good thing that someone came home or this could have been a really Bad incident for sure. They should have used a Rice cooker instead, but at the same time been keeping an eye on it at least at first to make sure everything would be OK. But hopefully this was a Good lesson learned, and no one was hurt.
