How do you find a troop in Iraq, etc?

I am looking for my friend, I have not talked to him in over 2 years and his dad's phone number is disconnected, I have NO WAY to track him down. Any suggestions on who I can call, write, email, etc. to find out if my friend is still alive? He and I used to be best friends when we were in high school and I've lost track of him, I miss him very much.
If you know how to find out, please respond.
His name is Anthony Greene, he's from Kansas.

If they were a relative, I could give you all sorts of resources. I'm not sure about friends though. I would start with the Department of Defense web site, they have all sorts of resources there.

That may actually help, I sent them an email telling them that I was looking for him, and gave them my contact info so they can give me a mailing address, hopefully. Thanks for your help!
