I have been wondering about this. In Africa especially, superstition is taken very seriously. My own culture believes heavily on superstion and there are certain happenings that can spoil or make the happiness of families and communities. Recently I read this article that focused on some of the superstitious belifs in my country-check it out here: http://www.socyberty.com/Ethnicity/Some-Superstitious-Beliefs-in-my-Culture.573179

Well, notr really but my mom is kind of superstitious.. she believes in some superstitions that she has learned from my grandparents.. like we shouldn't sweep the floor at night, pregnant women shouldn't watch unusual programs like horror films with scary images because the baby might look like a monster, something like that.. i guess there's nothing wrong with that.. just don't let those superstitions overpower you...

If you checked the link above, you will find how bizzare some of my tribal superstions are-a man is not supposed to meet a woman on his way while going on journey, also, meeting a monkey could be very dangerous if you are travelling, and many others. Actually my mother would never allow my sisters to sweep at night and her reasons are that doing so would ammount to sweeping out all the wealth from the house-so rubbish would instead be piled at a corner until day break before they are thrown into the gabbage pits. Thanks alot for this reponse!

yes . people around me are superstitous ,my culture too believes heavily on superstion and i think being superstitous is not at all bad but one should believe in limits otherwise it can spoli yours as well as others lives. if talking about being superstious i must talk about my own family members, my own mother believes in superstion which sometime make me angry and annoyed.
