hey there cindy.... talking about yoga....it has a lot of advantages and no side effects except some muscle pulls....and some cramps.....and a bone or two might break....and....and m just kidding well yoga helps you to add flexibility to your body, you can do physical work for hours without muscle pull or pains etc....it is a great stress buster too.....it helps you to increase your concentration....and makes you have a good apetite....keeps your stomach clean.....expands your lungs so that they can inhale more of oxygen.....these are the only things that i know.....there are many more Conclusion: Yoga is good for your body

Its good to practice yoga,it is a good healer. You can also lose some pounds in a very short time, without any side effects. But inappropriate postures can cost you dearly. So,its better to consult a yoga instructor,as you are quiet a new to this form of exercise.

Yoga isn't cardio, and is more like a stretching routine than a workout, if you ask me. It's a good place to start, I suppose, if you have trouble getting into the jogging/spinning/cardio routine. Moving is moving, and I've heard that Yoga definitely helps increase your flexibility! And increased flexibility could lead to being able to run better. I would suggest you buy a yoga DVD or some kind of instructional book. You should also make sure you get one for "beginners", because as easy as Yoga sounds, it can actually be pretty tricky! Or you could consider taking a community Yoga class for beginners, if you're in an area that offers those types of things. I myself have just started out, and I already find some of the poses to be way too difficult! I think you should mix yoga with other forms of exercising, too, like running, walking, or some kind of workout where your heart will start pumping fast (essentially, cardiovascular exercises). Yoga is a good place to start, but I definitely think you need more.

Oh, and one more thing! Don't forget to ask your doctor or physician (or dietitian, if you have one) to make sure that this would be the best option for you and wouldn't be putting too much strain on your body.

My daughter introduced me to Yoga. I do not do a lot but I do like the DVD that she recommended. It is put out by a company named Gaiam. The one she had me do is A.M. Yoga with Rodney Yee. I really like it because I get a good stretch, it wakes me up, and it only takes 15-20 minutes to complete. Gaiam puts out various workouts with different instructors but I like Rodney Yee because he is easy to follow and I can keep pace with the movements. Another tape by him is another beginner tape called Power Yoga Flexibility by Rodney Yee. I have not tried this one yet. Once again, it is put out by Gaiam. Gaiam also puts out Yoga mats, straps, etc. The website for Gaiam is www.gaiam.com After the Yoga stretch, sometimes I like to do T-Tapp. You can find out about this exercise program by going to www.t-tapp.com

Yoga is good for body if you are a regular, if you do for somedays and forego for some days then the effect is not as much. Yoga is a way of living actually where you live a disciplined life providing ample exercise to body, mind as well as soul.

Yoga is not just for the body but it is mainly for the spirit. Physical ailments are nothing more than symptoms of a spiritual malady. Cheers!!

I honestly do think yoga is good for you. I love doing it. It isn't rigourous so there is less chance of injury unless you do the move wrong, you will notice a difference after a few weeks or so, I did. I love it.

If you are into the body/mind thing then yoga may be an option. You probably don't have to sign up for a load of sessions right away either. A lot of places will let you try one or two at a discount so you can see if it's the thing for you.

I often so some sports to keep fit. I think Yoga is good and I have learned some before. It is really good for both of your body and your mind with full relax. You can have a try and see if it is fit for you by yourself. At the beginning, you'd better find a teacher to help you with the breath and then you can carry it by yourself. Hope my tips help.
