You are precisely correct that change should be BY CHOICE and NOT be FORCED upon someone we love. If we are to change for them to love us in return then IT IS NOT LOVE at all... because real love doesn't require someone to become ANOTHER person just to please one another. I agree with you.. I don't ask my boyfriend to change the way he is because I don't want him to change his self against his will.. It must come from to him and he wants it.. I love my boyfriend for what he is and I accept everything about him.. Honestly, there's nothing in him that I want to change because everything he is such as his personality, physical characteristics, behavior and attitude, I accept and love it.. I love him not because I want to change him into something that I want but I love him because of being him.. I believe that when a person ask his/her partner to change something in his/her personality or traits it only means that he/she don't entirely accept him/her and the love that she/he have is just focused on the things that he/she admire about him/her.. Love must be unconditional because that's true love means..

I dont think that you can change someone you really love but i know that we can change for the one we love. Like you said changing must come from within oneself. So we can change for the one we love and we can only change the one we love if he is emotionally ready for a change. Sometimes you can see also how mucha person loves you if that person can change no matter how difficult it is.
