How to reveal All without changing canvas size in Photoshop

Hi Everyone, This might seem like a really simple question, but how do you reveal all layers in a Photoshop document without changing the actual canvas size (to enable you to see layers larger than the canvas size)? Because with the Image-Reveal All Command it just expand the canvas size, and the only way I know to reverse this is to press Undo, which doesn't work if you want to undo it 10 stages down the line. I've tried the Image-Trim command but that simply trims the canvas to the visible pixels, so would either chop off information or leave the canvas too large (both unsuitable). If someone could answer this question then it'd be greatly appreciated.
