At what age do you think would be the best to send your child to school?

My children are home schooled. I don't think that public school can provide the education that we can at home and private school is not an option for us.

I think it really depends on your child and how you feel they would do. Some kids are ready at five, some at four and some are not ready until they are six. I chose to send my child when he was six, because I didn't think he was ready when he was five. Also, when I sent him I decided to have him skip kindergarten because I felt he didn't need it. In our state, kindergarten is not mandatory (as in most states, and most children are not required to attend school until they are age 6). My son has done very well, starting a year later and skipping kindergarten. You are his parent, you know her better than anyone else, so you have to make the decision if you think he can handle school at his age.

It depends on the child and also on your budget. There are kids who like to go to school at an early age just for fun of play or games, singing, dancing and other stuff, so some parents send their kids to pre-school as early as 2 and half years, some 3 years old. Sending tots or small kids at private pre-schools requires some expenses too, so if you can afford, then no problem for you in sending them to school early, but if you don't have a budget for that, then you or family members can teach the kids at home. I remember I have sent my first son to pre school at age 3 and the other son at 3 and half years and they enjoyed much coz they have fun playing, singing, dancing at the same time the teachers taught them the basics on reading and writing.
