Do you believe that old age is a gold age. If yes, then why? if not, then why not?

Yes, I believe in ‘old is gold’…apart from technology, the quality of most things around me is deteriorating day by day. I love listening to music and Hindi songs are one of my favourite…just listening to the lyrics and music of the latest songs puts me off completely…gone are the magical Urdu lyrics and melodious tunes and also the golden voices of yesteryears. I have a music system which is at least 25 years old and still running…similarly for old wood furniture, old jewellery, old zari on our sarees…everything. Things today are so shallow and false with an outward shine…inside its just cheap stuff so that you can use and throw and buy again and help these companies continue making huge profits.

sometimes, you have to consider the mental state of the old person. however, once you meet a physiologically healthy mind you're better off than finding a gold mine. this is probably the reason why even though the young generation is more fully knowlegeable on more useful things no amount of money can put a price on experience which is brought about by certain realizations, certain struggles punctuated by triumphs, choices and sacrifices made. probably, that's why people in high positions are old. and the old people in high positions even look up to older people.

Old age is a gold age. I think it's more like when you are getting older, you're getting wiser, and already had a lot of thing in the past. More experiences, more knowledge (apart from new technology of course.). So gold age means that you are much more solid in thought and actions. We often see that younger person sometimes more careless, action first before think. While a more older people have much more better actions and thought. That is why they called it gold age. A gold is much more solid right, and it's formed not within a year or so, it's took more than few years to get a solid gold. That's what i thought, i don't know if it's true or not...LOL

Hello,Shaukat! The proverb Old is gold may be correct for certain things but not for old age now a days.In the present world old age is a curse. Now I am in my seventies and I don't feel good enough to appreciate your idea. The children now a days think that we are burden to them.So they want to send us to the Old Age Home or Nursing Home.In this age we want love and care of the children. But they don't realize our sentiment. It is not a single case,in each family you will find the same problem.thanx.
